Tasman team named.
A big change is the availability of Quinten Strange. That allows Cirikidaveta to move to 6 and with Fox-Matamua at 8 and Segner on the bench, that should be quite a lot more physicality than earlier in the season.
Polataivao also comes back, which is stronger than Louie Chapman.
A downgrade at tighthead prop, where Salmon had lots of trouble last week after Sam Matenga dominated. Princep usually goes OK from the bench.
Quentin MacDonald also back on the bench for Sam Moli, which I'm not that sure about.
And Tima Faingaánuku gets a run on the wing ahead of Mark Talea - but, I'd imagine that's just a chance for Talea to freshen up - though maybe they noticed what Wellington did to Harbour's wings and wanted more security under the kicks.
-
Laban said that Savea was the star of the 2015 World Cup.
-
Bad signs for the Wellington scrum
There might be a few today with the shitty conditions
-
Strange showing his AB credentials by getting bumped off by a little fullback.
-
Hunt has had a far better start to the game than Garden-Bachop
-
Wait, I am sure I just heard Laban say "tackled by Isaac Ross", can't be true!
-
How many points is that wind worth
-
This is an awful game.
-
So dumb from Savea.
-
Savea cost the team 5 points due to stupity
-
Blackwell another unforced error
-
Wellington scrums getting done over a bit
-
11-0. Stupidity and unforced error cost Well 8 points. But a strong wind at Tasman's back in the first half. Reminds me of Athletic park back in the day

That's the million dollar question really.
Lots of breaks in play - tough to execute much, but I'd have been a lot happier if Tasman had another 7 points to go with a half they largely dominated.
See what happens when the teams turn round - playing into a gale in the wet....
-
Blackwell’s proving he’s well deserving of that Canes contract extension made -10 metres and knocked the ball on in a stupid position on the 22.
-
Tasman doing a good job of getting away being offside 3rd of 4th defender off the ruck. But hey still really good d regardless we’re struggling big time.
-
@Chris-B 11 point lead in the wet with the dominant scrum is nothing to sneeze at.
-
@KiwiMurph I agree especially as Wellington look toothless.
-
You think JGB would be controlling the game considering it’s his home ground there playing at. Just goes to show how rubbish he is I can’t wait for Morgan and Love to develop.
-
Proctor trying to outdo Savea in the stupidity stakes.

Its a poor game by Wellington
-
Hopefully Savea starts doing something at 12 considering he’s done nothing all game except cost his team 5 pts.
-
Well scrum is awful today
-
Jeez - that Wellington prop went straight to ground under the posts. Ref gives him a homer!
-
Connor Collins is playing well
-
More dumb play by Wellington
-
Why would you take the shot in that situation. You are still down 2 scores if you kick it.
-
Good well scrum with two new props
-
11-3 but Tasman are easily the better team
-
Tasman score. Rubbish display by Well
-
Hunt >>> JGB in controlling the game.
-
Yeah - that was a good effort, especially by the forwards. Dominant scrum, dominant maul - a few problems with lineout throwing in the gale, but to be expected really.
Shout out to Isaac Salmon, who I thought might be a weak link, but he was excellent in the scrum.
Defense was really aggressive and much of the time Wellington was losing ground with ball in hand.
Hope Havili is OK - not sure there were many arms in the tackle that took him out, but requires a closer look.
-
Tasman was more equipped to play in these conditions.
Sione Havili was probably Tasman's best, while Goosen was Wellington's best.
-
Well done to Tasman completely outplayed us we couldn’t get over the advantage line due to the massive Tasman defence my 1 gripe with Waenga is the last 10 when Wellington was on attack Tasman players were laying all over the ball and getting away with it, yeah ok we were dead and buried but that’s not the point, Rant over and again well done to Tasman on this performance the shield won’t be going anywhere next week.
-
I think we're not quite mathematically safe from relegation - but, we'd need a couple of massive losses to Canterbury and Otago to overturn our points advantage - and a perfect storm of other unlikely things falling into place.
Safe enough, I think! Now we can concentrate on qualifying for the play-offs.
-
@Chris-B There’s no way the way your team is playing your going to be any lower then 3rd

We got beaten up front. The problem wasn't JGB today.
-
@mikey07 Hope not - I'm hoping for 2nd.
1st would be a major bonus.
