Well, they had WheyGourmet on special (for members) at the local GNC Live Well shop, so I bought the Chocolate Mousse flavour - its quite frickin good in milk or water actually so that's what I'm on now. 70% protein and the taste is better than ANYTHING I've ever had in terms of protein shakes.

But why use containers that big when they're only half-full when you open them? -
Anyone in NZ watching the diet programme on TV in place of close up?..Has a group of over weight people who each are placed on a different type of diet and weightloss programme. After the first weigh in the most successful one was a guy who takes protein shakes. The others were using weighter watchers points(doing wonders for the mrs),Atkins with no carbs, working out at the gym 6 times a week, and this guy who has a diet which is based on his blood type :nta..something ive never heard of before.
Saw a bit of it. Quiet funny to see how gutted him and the atkins lady were. Odd how he didn't really look overweight either, but was 6' and 100kg. -

I thought i was the onyl one who noticed that!..watching his profile and thinking ok wheres the fat!
Felt sorry for the huge guy, first he was too big for the scales and then the fancy machine that runs a scan to determine your body fat was unable to fully scan him as he was too round in the middle.Plus the poor bastard has to give up red meat -

Wasn't quite like that - was a diet type that he had to go on. -

The show is on now, that guy who doesnt seem over weight and is on the protein shake diet lost over 7kg in two weeks, which is pretty hard out.Everyone else lost from less than 1 kg up to 1.5kg. -
Is he using them as actual meal replacement? I don't dig that really...

I only ever use protein shakes directly after exercise - stick back in 20 grams of protein mixed with 500ml of water, then have another 500ml water to finish off. Good for tidying up the fluid loss. -

Im taking EAS 100% Whey Protein. Two shakes per day. One scoop Whey (23 grams protein), 300 mls milk, blended with one banana and a small pot of yoghurt. Contents of shake equal about 40 grams protein.
Exactly the same thing I use. Good with water, but delicious with milk. Huge fark off container- hardly subtle sitting in you kitchen though. -

Seems to be,the guys actually over doing it,not so much with the shakes but with the exercise. He lost alot of weight in the first couple weeks, the 'experts' on the show started showing their concern with his big weightloss..funny considering the show comes across as a contest to see which diet plan works best. -
They reckon healthy weight loss is about 1kg per week at most, but it depends what sort of shape you're in. If you're a big fat bastard like me then you could conceivably lose 4kg in the first fortnight just through fluid loss via exercise and eating smart. When I did Atkins (briefly) I lost 3kg in the first week! Lost 1kg per week after that but I couldn't deal with the headaches from carb and sugar withdrawal and quit after a month.

You do often loss a shit load of weight in the first few weeks,we also have the biggest losser australian version on tv here..theres a guy who keeps lossing around 5 or 6kg's every week <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />..they always say you should loss weight at the same rate you put it on.Saves on being stuck with all that flabby skin. -

Milk - for me its a matter of making sure my diet has enough protein to do the muscle repair and enhancement stuff as the more lean muscle mass you have, generally the faster your metabolism is (provided you're using it)

does it have to be full fat milk? -

I ask the same question myself. I don't believe so, but sometimes it seems no matter what I do I'm destined for chubbiness.
