I'd just like to say, before my websence shuts me off the Fern in 11mns, that G&T's are a girl's drink. Kirwan should be ashamed of himself for having them in the first place. <br />

I'm in for this. 1000 curses on Kirwan for setting the initial bar so high though. But when I beat him the victory will be sweet indeed. Unfortunately I have taken a bit of a tumble tonight--cue Kirwan: I told you soÂ
, being unable to get to sleep, so I have cranked two scotches. This, I hope, will put me in good stead for a dawn run tomorrow. That is only a fair trade off I am telling myself...<br />

That lapse aside, I have not wanted a drink mid-week for the past couple of weeks. So I've mastered it mid-week; the problem as Kirwan has pointed out is in the pub when the rugby is on. Unfortunately I have hellos and farewells on each of the next 3 weekends, but after that look out! All it takes is two booze-free weekends and the record will be smashed. Shortly afterwards, hopefully MvJ will be as well <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /><br />

Well, I have (reluctantly) gotten with the spirit of this and started going to the gym. Doing some free weights and 2.5 km runs on the tredmill. Have actually managed to get up to 70 kgs ... but am finding it VERY hard to cut out the beer (and gin and vodka and wine and ...) in order to tone the abs. <br />
<br />
What are your strategies for this? I find drinking a cup of tea helps, but am trying to get to sleep early (have to start work earlier at the moment) aswell.
