I could nominate that bloke from Canterbury. The reason being that, among other things, a few years back he took a 3rd grade club team which hadn't won a match for 2 years and they started to win games with him in charge.
But I won't.
Serious nomination: Fabien Galthié. Tuning France into a really good side
-
Kieran Crowley. Has taken Italy from Fucken shit to just shit.
-
Gregor Townshend. Scotland a proper, decent team these days.
-
Rennie

Rennie
Why?
Cooper
No other coach would have picked him
-
Well it’s not Gatland or Erasmus for sure and yes I know Rassie isn’t the actual coach. Apparently.
-
Andy Farrell seems to be getting a lot out of the Ireland squad at the moment.

That's just Ireland peaking between RWC 🤷♂️

Simon Middleton, England women's coach. Dominant as, and cruising too an embarrassing win here next year
I'd put in Borthwick for what he's done for Leicester, but that didn't count
Add in Cory Sweeney Olympic 7s winners, fucking golden winners, but also not allowed I guess

Middleton- fair call.
Borthwick - correct, limiting to head coach of full international (I.e., Test match), but ...
...7s. Hmmm, let me refer that to the Committee...
-
If sevens counts then Allan Bunting.
-
Ozich but it does not count. Galthié or Farrell then.

Farrell had added some attacking dimension to what was a boring robotic machine, but still being pretty good. Galthie for taking over a malfunctioning team, putting in young exciting players and making France a real contender, as well as great team to watch. Also coolest glasses in rugby
Both of these dishes, along with Rennie, coached their teams to the three best international performances of the year (Vs ABs, and 2nd Sa test for ozzie)

Much as I have liked Rennie, his team's record for year is to dismal to be considered coach of the year. I wouldn't really consider one team performance to be coach of the year.

Ian Foster. Reason: to see if anyone actually votes for him.

Oh and BTW - I .... err ... the committee decided we're picking a XV of the year so 7s coaches not eligible.
-
Looking at that table Fozzie should walk this. Won the meaningful competition his team was in and emphatically retained the premier trophy (outside of the Shield) that we care about. 😏
