13. 2021 Centre
-
A note of clarification here: "Centre" in proper rugby terminology, as is the case here, refers to the mid-field back who plays in the 13 jersey. It is the Centre Three-quarter. Johnny Foreigner is to make themselves aware of the distinction between Second Five-eighth (12) and Centre when nominating.
One year I lumped the midfield into one thread because you all look the same to me, and was tempted to do so again, but was wary of causing offense as this upset some of the
poofsbacks.Anyway...
...Please nominate, and say why.Refer rules in Sports Talk forum.

This is a difficult one as there seems to have been little in the way of consistent selection at 13 from what I can remember. Slade has played very well for England (mind you I’ve seen much more of England than anyone else, so factor that in) and has improved over the year, but to me does not quite have all the attributes. He might get a nom just through lack of choice though.

Henshaw
Played at both 12 and 13
Consistently very good throughout the year -
Good call
-
Anton Lienert-Brown for me. Just so solid and dependable at 13.
Henshaw next in line.
-
Mathieu Bastereaud. Continuing to break his own records for the largest tier-1 13, and looking stunning doing it.
-
Lukhanyo Am made WR's Dream Team of the Year.

His high points have been impressive.
-
Chris Harris. Any Scottish back who gets selected for the Lions test team has to go ok.

-
RIoane, cos he was the one of 3 players for the ABs who demanded selection all year
-
Rieko Ioane : he is the most threatening player in attack.
-
I not sure if he would be my 13 in 2021, but am strongly starting to suspect he may well be very close in '22 after another season of super in that position!
And if this RTS character is as good as some are saying (I never seen him, I don't watch league), there could be an interesting conundrum come test season with an a couple of established midfield combos, Tupaea/ALB for Chiefs, RTS/Ioane for Blues and maybe Havili/Goodhue for Crusaders?
I know thread for team of 2021 , but it's new years day, and I looking forward to rugby this year again.I would add Am may almost get 2021 13 spot for me.
