Who was the least sighted (there's a Reuben Thorne joke in there desparately trying to get out) loose-forward this year?

      Please nominate, and say why.

Refer rules in Sports Talk forum.

      Vote above, nominees below.

Surname First Name Country Pros Cons
CURRY Tom ENG has game often used as a Nr.8
IOANE Akira NZL great early season form; blew hot blew cold
KOLISI Siya SAF superb with ball in hand, has eventually lived up to hype; back to his best during November tour; very good against the Lions a bit Meh during the RC

        Siya Kolisi.

Ball in hand this year has been superb. First year I think he's been worth the hype.

Silly question: is Kolisi open or blind? Who plays the other side for Seffrica?

Isn’t the 6 open side for SA? And France come to that?

It's as bit of mess as he plays 6, which in SA is open side, but he when playing with Kwagga, he played blind side.

Yeah, the traditional open / blind is getting quite muddled huh?

For example, an AB loose trio of Savea, Blackadder, Papalii could have any of them in any position...

But I'll accept Siya's nomination for blindside.

As yes, he played awesome this year.

Re France (@Catogrande ) was the Wookie open of blind?

Do you mean Chabal? He played blind (7), 8 and lock according to how much the then incumbent muppet of a coach wanted to fuck things up.

Was wondering about Woki. Apparently lock or flanker - which suggests blindside.

Not going to nominate as I didn't see enough of him, but I have a gut feel that he did good across multiple games I saw him play.

Yeah, good player rather than great (great highlights reel though). However, unlikely to feature in a team of this year, hence me asking the question.

Akira Ioane for his flat track highlights

He's been back to his best during the November tour and was very good against the Lions. He was a bit Meh during the RC but I don't see any other contender for the blind side. Doris is very promising but he did not play enough games to be named here. Curry was often used as a Nr.8, Akira Ioane blew hot and cold, O'Mahony was rather anonymous during the 6N.
