<p>I'm feeling introspective - 14 years ago today since Spike died. He was the voice of comedy in my youth with The Goon Show, his nonsense verse, and all his great books. His war memoir series is just amazing - revealing, funny, and sad.</p>

<p>Just found Badjelly The Witch on Spotify, so time to listen to that</p>

Badjelly the witch, cheers that's a cool memory from my childhood. I think we had it on vinyl or something when I was a kid because I remember listening to it loads of times.

<p>Brilliant characters, distinct voices, always tempted to buy it for my nieces, but don't know how it would go down after their lifelong diet of Nick Jr, and the fact it's all audio.</p> -

<p>Often when I see our ferner sparky contribute something "sparky thinks the trains talk, sparky thinks the trains talk" meanders through my minuscule mind :)</p>

<p>This caused me endless amusement in my 3rd year of uni when I had a flatmate called Rochelle.</p> -
<p>I was trying to explain the Sunday morning radio show to my wife, she looked at me like I had grown up in the 50's. Its funny how different NZ and Europe must have been in the 80's and how the gap has closed nowadays.</p>

Followed by Country Life on a Sat. What better way to start the weekend than a couple of kids stories and then pasture growth rates in North Canterbury?
