Yep ☺️

Josh Ioane to nail the winning drop goal in extra time
-
Crusaders have no chance against the mighty, mongrel Chiefs. I hope the Chiefs go easy on this team of no-hopers, safe white boys, underserving ABs, and has-beens. Geez, they are the only team that doesn't even have a stadium!
-
Got the makings of a good one this game (well both games this weekend) ,I actually think both teams here match up pretty well except for Crusader's having a bit more in game winners in back 3?
-
@Dan54 earlier this year when the chiefs won in chch I thought Shaun Stevenson had a nice outing but since then he's been rarely sighted.. I presume he's been injured
-
@FakatavaFuture Stevenson got a serious knee injury against MP in April. He has only returned to playing club rugby in the last 2 weeks.

If there ever was a team the Saders didn’t want to play in a semi, this is it.
They match up well against the way the Saders attack. And now that Blackadder is out and is a key link piece, it will be that little bit harder.
We have been underdogs all season.
-
@ACT-Crusader not only that the crusaders have only defeated 3 teams in chch all season those being the reds, landers & Drua, safe to say underdog status is well deserved🙂
-
@ACT-Crusader Moana Pasifika did us no favours by beating the Brumbies.
I think they're a team we match up well, where the Chiefs almost always give us problems.
Losing Blackadder is big - not quite as crippling as losing Mo'unga, but there with Jordan as next most irreplaceable.
-
-
@Chris-B yeah Mo’unga is the most important player for us for a host of reasons - class player, creates so much, the kicking, the drop off to the back up player. He didn’t have the best test season last year but he’s fine tuned a few things this Super campaign that hopefully he can take that next step up.
Blackadder does a lot of little things that don’t show up in the stat sheet but help the team at ruck time and in attack.
The Chiefs play a very good second line attack play with Gatland’s wide passing game. As the old cliche goes, we’ll have to be better than last week
-
This game will be brutal,Not only a SF but a potential AB trial some great match ups.
Taylor v ST
Jager v Ross
Bower v Ta'avao
Whitelock v Retallick
Barrett v Va'ai
Grace v PGS
Havilli v QT -

Having to play the Reds twice would lull a team into a false sense of security
-
@Chris If Jager was selected would he be the most recent foreign AB since Steve Devine? (excluding PI nations)

If you are just talking about foreign born outside of PI then Akira Ioane as he was born in Japan,Or Tyrel Lomax born in Australia

Excluding a huge number of PI's..
Greg Rawlinson is more recent. Moved to NZ as an adult and made the AB's
-
@Duluth how could I forget such a north harbour great!

Yeah, Tongan front-rowers might feel a little short-changed ...
-
@Chris didn't know that about Akira! good Trivia.. & yeah Tyrel obviously played for the rebels & his dad a Canberra legend out of Wainuiomata as Ken laban informs the viewer🙂
-
Quinten Strange has been back training for the last 2 weeks maybe a chance for the 23.
-
@Chris nice! guessing Havili will be on the bench also?
-
Barring injuries I expect to see the same Chiefs side as last week except the return of Cane with Jacobsen to 6 and Finau to bench in place of Brown.
I would still prefer Ratima on the bench over Roe and Ioane starting at 15

That surprised me Roe on the bench last week, Ratima is a much bigger threat.

More likely he will hit the post the Crusaders will get a length of the field try to Jordan to seal a victory.
Ioane is good at fucking up. -

Ioane at fullback is a liability.
Especially on a cold and wet night in Christchurch.

It’s a very good lineup. An abrasive pack with a couple of high skill players in Sami and PGS.
Ioane isn’t great under the high ball and he’s not a hit the line with pace sort of fullback, but he does have a good kicking game and given it’s likely to be ugly weather that kicking / territory game will be critical.
-
Finau to fold Mo'unga inside the first 10 minutes, forcing him from the field. Chiefs win by 8

Nah, I think that is a good selection. I was surprised he wasn't there last week.
Dyer for Moli is a good move too, as I have highlighted Moli's scrummaging problems.

Yep - happy with Dyer there. Very pleased Finau is starting - with a chance for him to rattle Mo'unga and Havili. Thought Narawa would go to wing for ENS, but am happy otherwise.
-
It's going to be close as, I reckon. Tough game to call, saders should pip it at home, but an upset is well within the realms of possibility, if the chuffs turn up.
