Of course Vest keeps getting starts......
Pleased that Tuipulotu's injury wasn't too bad.
-
-
-
@KiwiMurph Yes, sorry, not much sleep recently.
-
Is Aoake the best we can do?
-
-
Bay of Plenty by a thousand
-
I would imagine the 7s lads Clark and Tangitau will be gearing up for RWC 7s and so not available (and same for BOP)?
-
1 Aidan Ross, 2 Kurt Eklund, 3 Tevita Mafileo, 4 Justin Sangster, 5 Manaaki Selby-Rickit, 6 Naitoa Ah Kuoi, 7 Jacob Norris, 8 Zane Kapeli, 9 Jamie Dobie, 10 Kaleb Trask, 11 Nigel Ah Wong, 12 Inga Finau, 13 Joey Walton, 14 Emoni Narawa, 15 Gillies Kaka

@Duluth Bloody good NPC tight five.
-
Only one change from last week with Dobie now starting which I think is a good move. Our starting forward pack is the same from last week which was incredibly strong against Taranaki. I believe the stat the commentators mentioned after 35 minutes was 5 runs from each member of the tight five at that point of time. The highlight for me was the tighthead at 50 minutes when defending our own line. Hopefully they set the tone again.
-
@bayimports Ross is not a bad addition either.

yes clearly I missed that lol! At least the reserve front row looks good too
-
Good to see jordan lay up against his old steamers mates
Last years game was called off due to covid auckland last year had dan Hollinshead and jordan
Go the bay -
Beautiful day in Auckland.
BOP look to have the better pack. We probably have the edge in the backs.
-
@Dice Really looking forward to seeing RTS play. He was supposed to play last year in the ITM, was disrupted due to Auckland not playing. While he has gone well, this would have had an effect on his progress.
-
Glorious day. Afternoon rugby at the Garden - couldn't get down but on teh couch.
Kinda feel like I'm waiting for a Vest penalty early
-
Vest has a massive bust up the middle! That delayed pass is really effective against a rush defence
-
RTS with the offload and boomfa, should be 10-0
-
RTS!!
-
-
No end on camera?
-
Cheers AJ 🙂

weird, no try no video evidence.
Ah well, great bust, everything but. Should be doing this a year ago -
Auckland well and truly on top. 10 nil and almost another try after 11 minutes. BOP need to wake up
-
Plummer. What a fool. Deserves his yellow card
-
Ak HB looks promising.
-
-
two big goal line turnovers/penalties from Auckland. Huge with a player in the bin

... and both turned over from poor lineouts.
Sigh.
-
Stupid play by Alex Hodgman
-
and now two in a row not straight from BOP;
is it that hard for hookers to throw straight?
-
Wonder if Pugh will get a call up into the Wallabies squad?

tackling with his face was novel, effective and not sustainable

Funaki. Been solid for a couple of years
that try was clearly on me.
-
Poor from Funaki ..the number 8 had already made 2 sideway steps which meant the defensive line was gonna be preasuring
-
After Auckland dominated for the first 15 or so minutes and looked as if they might run away with the game. Its now 10-8 to Auckland

dominated for longer - but coudl have been up by 20! The number of wasted line breaks ...
-
Not enough points for all the breaks we're making.
Highlights will have plenty of RTS in it. He's having his way with this BOP defense.
