BFs by another 50.
-
This test is the last real opportunity to give players a chance to make the RWC squad. They need to take it.

Some will find that head to heads in FPC finals may help selection as well but it shouldn't change much. Hopefully no one picks up a serious injury.
-
Damn Steinmetz at FB surprising & getting a start ahead of Tubic.

And having both Holmes and Tubic on the bench seems to suggest the coaches want to see Tubic at 1st 5 in the 2nd half.
-
@Bovidae Yupp, keen to see more of Tubic 10 & Demant 12 combo. They didn't get much time last week but Semple deserves a chance at 12.
-
The other thing about the starting XV is that none of the main goal kickers are there. Bayler was kicking for Waikato in their last game and did well, so maybe she has that role. Demant would be the other choice. Semple doesn't seem to anymore.

Note to the team: score near the posts.

In reality (for this year and RWC), not much.
We are in the same pool. The other two teams are weak. Australia will be going into the quarters about 5th and likely to face either England or France. If they are lucky Pool B might even out and let the Pool C second place into third ranking. That would also be a good scenario for NZ as we might meet for a fifth time this year in the semis. -
Ferns dominating already, but scrappy
-
Ferns 3 is too big, slow and never getting on side. Twice in a minute
-
Which had lead to a try, roos up 7-0, basically showing that there is a long way to beating France, let alone England.
Semprle, 12, totally upright in a tackle. Head contact, she should be on for a red card when she wakes up
-
Play should have been stopped straight away

Yup, but she should get a card
-
@Machpants , no question about the card , but like I said play should been stopped straight away ..
-
Yellow, cos she's 'passive'. Absorbing I guess
-
Finally a bit of decent play, not vintage, and the ferns rumble it over close. 7-10 ferns 26 mins
-
Smith will be pissed with the effort so far. Ozzie have really stepped up, but ferns very poor, scrappy
-
And that's the half time score, very poor effort
-
Did the Ferns get on the piss last night?
-
Much better defence this week from Wallaroos.
-
Too much white line fever from the Black Ferns
-
This is good for us. Wallaroos exposing the weaknesses.
New prop is having a great debut though. -

New prop is having a great debut though. They're doing rush defence really well, even if it has cost then a yellow, and lots of penalties
-
Some of the catch pass skills are horrendous.
-
This is like teams from two different divisions playing each other. Wallaroos basic skills a big step below the ferns - particularly set piece and ruck stuff.
-
@KiwiMurph Wayne Smith will be pulling his hair out after watching this performance.
Despite all the changes , some of the passing and basic handling has been Horrendous..
Wish someone would Ruby Tui to put her bloody boot away when she’s in a one on one situation..
The 6 for Australia has been superb -

And Ayesha dropping it with the line open..
-
Disagree about Tui. Yep, she is overusing it but in the womens game it it can really pay off. Oz have been really lucky a couple of times with the bounce.
-
I think a card might be coming up here

Nope, reserve ferns hooker clothes lined some one, but missed
-
FFS that last scrum - Black THP folds sideways on engage and then gets the penalty for being rubbish
-
I hope tubic is nowhere near the cup squad, her passing had been laboured all game, and she poses to players under pressure far too often
-
-
Great try by the winger there
Edit. Through were tubic should've been
-
Womens' rugby is a difficult watch.
That was a dreadful performance by the Ferns. A wake up call after the plaudits of the previous game.
-
The “bomb squad” tactic with the props is a crock of shit and WR need to stop it IMO.
Props off after 30 minutes (the proven period of a lower number of scrums) then the first string front row on for the guts of the game followed by injury replacements from the rested starters.
It’s just bullshit manipulation of the rules there to protect props. -

The ferns were poor, ozzie brought rush defences and attacking the breakdown, so they did their part making the ferns poor. The ferns were still better than the ABs have been most of the year
