-
Josh Ioane at 12
All of those back reserves are on debut
-
i wonder if we considered putting Gilbert at 12 rather than ioane...
-
i imagine ioane is not long for dunedin shores...moving him around the backline was what fucked him off with the highlanders
-
Based on past history I expect the Waikato team to be named tomorrow. The players rested against Southland should all return but anyones guess who plays on the wing with the injuries to Sinkinson and Dawai, and possible concussion for Coombes-Fabling. Tuhakaraina might be asked to fill a role.
-
3 halfbacks in the 23. Luke Jacobson on the bench.
-
Is Ratima covering other positions?
Lots of 9, 10, wing options
Who covers a midfield injury? One of the starting wingers? (I don’t know much about them)
-
@Duluth
Tuhakaraina is a centre and started there against Southland.I assume Leiua is rested or injured, and Coombes-Fabling and Cook-Savage banged up. Ratima went to the wing on Wed night.
Surprised that Sinkinson is available.
-
Some more info on Otago’s injuries:
-
Terrible call
-
Great defence from Lam
-
Waikato props having a mare
-
So many dumb mistakes
-
McKenzie has had a sloppy few minutes. Gifting possession back to Otago
-
@Duluth oh mate Waikato have been awful for the last 10 mins
-
Fuck sake why do we have a 9 covering wing off the bench. Fucking useless.
-
Shit game, Waikato fucked themselves in the final 15. 3 games in 10 days, reset and go again next week.
-
A win is a win. An ugly win, gives just enough points as a ripper. Take it and fight for a top four spot.
-
Otago 27 Waikato 20

Just 4 points behind Hawkes Bay.
Otago have Manawatu away then Canterbury in Dunedin
HB have BOP away, then host Tasman
-
Otago should get five points against Manawatu. Then the pressure will be on HB
-
thanks otago that kick in the arce will put us in a good headspace for the ranfurly sheild challenge

I thought they did alright especially against a more fancied side like the Mooloo. A few of the forwards stepped up.
-
Given the number of unavailable players, this is a good win for Otago.
-
Just watched the game on mysky, I'm so proud!
-
I thought Waikato paid the price for inaccuracy in the last 20 mins. Too many poor passes and dropped balls. Like Otago at the start of the game, Waikato certainly had chances to score at the end. Jacobson should have taken the gap instead of passing to Lam.
-
i really enjoyed that game, day rugby under the roof really is fun to watch

Commanding performance from Fabian Holland in the LO. He is also very mobile. With a few additional kgs of muscle, he could be well in the mix for an AB selection after the RWC. I also liked what I saw of young McClea. He looks to be a good prospect. I would start him ahead of Parapara who is rather slow.
