Yup, peak Brexit was pretty much the day she got shot, massive reversal in markets /sentiment / media coverage since then. An MP getting killed over thing is fking scary, and has made people stop and think what other scary things might happen if an ill-conceived exit narrowly wins.
I think its more people took a good look at the campaigns & way in which the Brexit guys have worked people up with "1 million Turks are coming here to rape your women & steal youir jobs & destroy the NHS" and thought "am I actually on the right side here?".

Its like dancing in a nightclub & catching a glimpse of yourself in a mirror & realising maybe those 3 Jagers were not a good idea & you should sit down for a bit.
-
First results coming through from Newcastle. Less than a thousand votes difference but Remain is up

Thats the biggest influence Sunderland has ever had on anything. Sunderland vote was actually tighter than expected.

Unless there is a huge surprise somewhere, remain should win by about 3-5%

That's pretty close. What were the turnout percentages?
-

Seriously, the economies of those areas are fucked, so blaming the Euro is probably an easy scapegoat.
-
