Italy vs Ireland 6N
-
Good game so far. Garbisi playing really, really well. 7-5 to Italy
-
Terrible call. That’s a penalty to Italy all day for simulation.
-
Ireland showing their class and pulled away by halftime. 24-10
-
@MajorRage 24-17 thanks to an Aki intercept pass.
-
The Irish attack seems systemically illegal to me when I watch it the last couple of years.
Players in motion is one thing, but their dummy runners are actually running into traffic and knocking defenders over.
Especially around the 12 channel with the out the back passes. McCloskey did it for Keenan's try.
-
Italy are a different team these days under Crowley. A bit more control at the breakdown and they'll be really dangerous. They've discovered some players like Garbisi & Canonne who wouldn't be out of place in any Test team.
Good to see compared to the embarrassing Italy of a few years ago.
-
Weren't ready my arse. Ref should have let that play on - not Italy's problem if Ireland are slowing things down
-
Was Aki just trying to tell the ref no try?
-
And he bottled it so now looks even worse 🤣

Probbly thought he never lost contact/control..
-
I'm loving the Italian ambition. Great to see.
-
That Mack Hansen lad didn't sound like an Irish bloke when he was interviewed post match.
He dropped an f bomb on live telly. Something id expect more from say ...an Aussie.
-
@Victor-Meldrew he was trying to call the ref back and the ref ignored him then his teammate congratulated him so he lost interest
-
Good on Aki for at least trying to be honest.

Half hearted attempt. Thought it would be looked at, so went to say something then got swept away by the adulation and thought he'd hit and hope.

Ah. I hate that short of shit,

When Sexton is not playing, the Irish team looks pretty ordinary.
-
Ringrose, and not Sexton, was probably the biggest loss today. He’s the defensive leader and has been in outstanding form for the past 12 months, and he was a late withdrawal to make matters worse. In total Ireland were missing 8 starters, and came up against an excellent Italian side who probably put together their best 80 minutes 6ns performance. Obviously Ireland weren’t close to their best but to be honest they were probably as good as they were allowed to be. Full credit to Italy who are a very talented and well coached side.
-
Fuck
Hard task masters
Ireland never looked like losing

Yes, and despite their loss, they're playing much better than a few years ago. Kieran Crowley has improved this team considerably.
-
Is the 6N using the new variation for scrum half not going past the mid-line?

That ruling is just to protect us from this...
-
@Crucial yes most amusing.
I ask because I was watching ITA v IRE and the Irish scrum half was right up in his opposite's grill at one point.
-
I still haven't watched this game and don't know the score, but judging by the fact the thread doesn't have 800 posts, Italy didn't win.
