Is there an agreement in place for the structure of the 2024 season?

@KiwiMurph that's a real shame and shows the demise of NPC rugby. Mind you, I think all big centre teams should stay clear from the big stadia. It would be cool if they hosted some games out in the Hutt aswell.

This announcement will also put plenty of loyal fans off that attend Sky Stadium on a regular basis.

    wow...thats a big move

i am the first one to say smaller stadiums would be good, try and concentrate the growd and get some atmosphere...but thats not exactly just around the corner, not going to generate more support in the city itself

I hope they have done the research and know there is a big group of fans that wont/havent been coming into town but will go to Porirua

@Kiwiwomble I feel having games in Porirua every week is a huge risk. It would be better to mix it up between Porirua and the Hutt because you're highly likely going to lose punters from the Hutt Valley and the wider Wellington City who won't be bothered with the commute if it's solely based in Porirua.

NPC sides don't have the pull and the star power to entice people to commute that far anymore.

He will be a hard act to follow. Future success will have been because of what has been done over the past few years off the field.

Afeaki lost his job when the New York Ironworkers withdrew from MLR so this makes sense.

Taranaki is quick to release contracted player lists.

Franklin has also verbally agreed to return.

Hopefully they do away with the midweek game, but they'll probably condense the season even more!
