What the hell, I just realised that this mammoth loss was in Australia! Damn, how good was our series win in India.
Meh, battle of the minnows.
We didn't give India in a 5 test series because they couldn't compete.
How do you say "No mas" in Indian?

Also this is their 2nd test loss in a row at home
Windies beat them back in Jan.Wonder what their longest losing streak at home is...

I’d completely forgotten about that.
We’re so tuned as “little brother” to think that Australia crushes all before them at home.

It was a great win too from memory, again they were outdone by a Pace bowler.

I think the talk of the demise of Australian cricket is way of the mark.
There is enough in SS to bring through and there is some outstanding young talent
coming through the U/19 and U/17 programs like
Sam Hogan rated very highly in QLd as a batsmen
Oliver Peake from victoria another batsmen
Tom Campbell from Qld bstsmen
Addison Sherrif Nsw pace bowling allrounder
Simon Budge from WA batsmenWhat happened to Steve Waugh's son? A few years ago he was getting talked up a bit, but I haven't seen his name for a while now (I don't follow SS too closely though)

Austin he quit Cricket around 2020 pressure of it all I believe, he has come back this season is still around he is 24 now, hasn't really broken through as yet.

Interesting how we can rattle off the names of 10 or so Australian batsmen from the 90s and 2000s that were born in the wrong era.
But no one laments the depth of the bowlers from that era. No one thinks Scott Muller, Adam Dale, Brad Williams, Mark Nicholson etc were unlucky not to have long test careers. But surely they're different sides of the same coin.
However. Those batsmen all dominated county cricket though, and succeeded when elevated to test or ODI cricket. So, there is something in it.
Will the same sort of conversations be happening in 20 years about Scott Boland, Jhyre Richardson, Michael Neser etc. Yet, forgetting that the young Aussie Sheffield Shield batsman hold the bat at the wrong end and put their box over their anuses while trying to launch re-inforced kookuburras into an IPL scout's wife's lap while batting on a greentop.

I wondered where he'd gone to. U19 World Cup a few years was a bit surreal - free entry at Bay Oval to find Steve Waugh sitting on the bank.
