@Virgil I liked Sansa sly grim at Jon when he resalises he is to stab Dani.
Yup it was a ‘bout time’ look to her

Watched the doco last night, great insight into how a show like this is created. Its fucken madness that they can organise all of those people, sets etc etc and make it work. No wonder the odd coffee cup made it in, they really are under the pump. Love the foul mouthed woman who was the logistics manager? And the snow man was cool too. Also loved the passion of the extras who must have had to sit around for hours and hours. Night king has an interesting personality.

Haven’t seen it yet but the work involved would have been worse early in the series. Filming across multiple countries and locations.
Least with season 8 it was more centralised, though the battle of Winterfell sounded like a massive job. Filmed over 55 consecutive nights. -

I dont have the issues some had with the final season, but this was supposedly seen in one of the teachers strike yesterday...

Funny to see this thread again.
GOT consumed such a massive part of my TV life. I loved it but I have no desire to ever see it again as opposed to say Breaking Bad, Fargo or the Mandalorian ( which I’ve watched about 3 times in total )
What do others think?

Totally agree
Every week I was peppered for the next show and what might or might not happen.
Watch a replay of an episode I've seen before? Never....
I have YouTubed a couple of the big battle scenes, some of Bronn and the Hounds great lines and possibly images of some tits. But that’s it

I read the books previously but then decided to give them via Audible a go. Just finished Dance of Dragons a few weeks ago. Best part of a year to get through them. You appreciate how much the TV show differed from the books. The show did plenty right but got plenty wrong as well. Dorne, The Greyjoys (Euron especially) were poorly done.
Have since started (and nearing the end) listening to Fire and Blood. The whole Targaryen history of Aegons Conquest onwards.
This being the basis of the next GOT show on HBO i believe. Some brutal shit went down, having just gone through the Dance of the Dragons chapters, which was basically a Targaryen civil war. 2 sides fighting for the succession of the throne.
I fear we will never get to see ASOIAF completed by George. By all accounts he hasnt even started book 7 yet. And here we are awaiting on book 6 which has had its completion date pushed out by years.

He needs to do a George Lucas before it’s too late.
Being fat and old doesn’t help his cause

He got caught up in the TV show. He played a large role in the first 4 or 5 seasons. Book 5 came out in the same year as season 1 of GOT.
Hopefully he has entrusted someone close to him his work so far so they can finish it if he doesnt. -
@MN5 We've started watching again from the First Episode. Just a couple of episodes on a Saturday night if there's nothing better to do. Up to season 4 I think. Fuck the first seasons are good. Plus there is so much I'd forgotten For these reasons I am enjoying it - but it's not something I absolutely have to watch

thats how I got through all the books, at the time I was travelling to Auckland once a week for work so smashed them out.
They had the same guy do the reading and character voices for all bar 1 book IIRC, and I thought he was fantastic, although think in the last book (it was the previous book he was replaced) some of his character voices changed slightly.
He also had a cameo in S1 I think it was.

Yep Roy Dotrice, he was the pyromancer in season 2 when they used Wild Fire to light up Blackwater Bay.
His voices did change with certain characters but it would have been a hell of a lot of work.
He’s since passed away too I believe
