Jacindas no show is the lead story on the herald , I think we know why she’s pulled the pin though. Currans got her even deeper in the shit , Handleys contract has been terminated no doubt because of the dodgy way he was hired.

The comments are glorious, the press have finally started to turn on labour and even the usual barrage of labour fanboys in the comments section are getting dozens and dozens of downvotes and stuff is actually letting people point out how wrong the fanboys are.
Winston is playing this very well, Shane Jones is gaining more profile and I can see a scenario where Winstons hands the reins over to him . Jones has a track history of working with national so it could be goodbye to Ardern in two years, I'd be a bit worried if I was a green mp right now, the only thing they have got profile for is Golly Gs lying and Davidson trying to reclaim the word fluffybunny. -

@jegga Let's be real. Jacinda never stood a chance against Winston. And he knew it. Cunning and experience will always defeat chirpy twit.
yep, plenty of our 'journos' that have been pretty aggressive with English, Key and others always seem pretty tame when interviewing old Whinny, he is the master politician.

I hope Winston's spoiler tactics don't result in more votes from the centre-right. After all, it's his fault we're in this mess
This is a nice summary. Ardern is screwed

It will surprise the hell out of me if Winston is planning on handing any reins to anyone any time soon.
For all the succession plans he might want to build, NZ First is the Peters Party. I reckon the day he quits they'll shed a third of their supporters.
Jones seems like a rude, obnoxious fucker - not sure he's got the electoral appeal of Peters - who is himself a rude obnoxious fucker, but somehow he manages to sell it!
Peters is quite possibly doing a good job though - I haven't looked at the bills and things he's pulled the rug on, but they don't sound like things that are critical to the economy or governance of the country.

If anything he’s mostly saved them from themselves by opposing dropping three strikes and upping the refugee quota. He still let them destroy and industry and fuck over a region to get the sex scandal off the front pages so there’s that.

This is is excoriating and 100% true , it’ll be interesting to what if any response there is from the usual quarters . I’ve long wondered how labour can hold their collective noses and go into coalition with Winston given his appalling behaviour and comments in the past. The facts the Greens can do it with all their wokeness is inexplicable.

Goes to show, despite their self proclaimed principles, the Greens were gagging for some degree of power so much they were willing to swallow the biggest rat of them all to do it

As usual it’s not the lie that really screws you over , it’s the cover up.

@jegga that is shocking, really highlights the sorry state of Universities today. She absolutely must fall on her sword if they want to retain any semblance of integrity.

Yeah, nah. I don’t think she has that much integrity. She’ll likely tough it out, backed by the useful idiots at the Standard etc who will say, in essence, that the end justifies the means because Brash is racist etc, nothing to see here, right wing hit job yada yada.
Isn’t it interesting that the Ferald has no problem recycling Farrar’s work but don’t miss an opportunity to label him a “right-wing blogger”. Hypocrites.

You’d think what passes for our national paper would have submitted the oias themselves. Then again you’d think they’d look into the huge conflicts in Golly Gs backstory too.

Winston has allowed labour a win to give them some good press . This doesn’t look at all contrived.

I'm currently reading Douglas Murray's 'Strange Death of Europe' it does not pair well with this announcement:
https://www.stuff.co.nz/national/politics/107203279/refugee-quota-lifting-to-1500-by-2020
Thankfully its a pain in the ass getting here so we have few illegals and hopefully there are processes in place to ensure we get actual refugees.
Highly recommend the book by the way..just don't expect good nights sleeping while reading it.
