I can almost (not really) understand Curran getting it wrong - but Hirschfeld? If it wasn't shonky then they obviously thought it would be perceived as shonky - otherwise why the lies?
Be a shame if this jeopardises the 38 Mill as NZ desperately needs investment in quality broadcasting / news reporting
-
This opinion piece suggests Hirschfeld felt obliged to take the meeting. If Ardern fails to axe Curran it will be a sign of weakness. Or complicity
-
159 days in power and the minister for open government is caught lying and trying to cover up a meeting .
You couldn’t make this shit up.
Also judging by Currans performance at the press conference “ differing stories” is this administrations “ alternative facts”.

@canefan She probably won't. I can see her brushing it off as another new minister blunder, grinning, and wandering away to approve Gayford's suggestions of onesies.
Snort laughed at that. Probably because I see "Gaylord" every time it is in front of me. It is also probably close to the truth.
-
One more fact. The govt honeymoon is over.

poor old Bill English, losing out to this circus!

I think that was kind of the point for him - he didn't want to be in a circus with Winnie the clown as ring master not to mention the human cannon ball greens.

More like another reason to hate Winston.
How the fuck did people think this was going to go, having a woman with zero leadership experience being in charge of an uneasy multi-party coalition filled with equally clueless MPs? FFS.

Well this is pretty much exactly how I thought this was going to go. The bright side being this is going to destroy one or both of the minor parties when this farce disintegrates.

Maybe this is a master stroke, taken the heat off the sex camp debacle.
Labour just need a new drama to come out soo to take the heat of this one...I like the way you are thinking! We could take it one step further.. after 3 years of crisis and turmoil.... Jacinda could claim she is highly experienced and managing a crisis... vote winner!

Labour just need a new drama to come out soo to take the heat of this one...If it is a planned masterstroke it's a pretty good one.
I'm afraid I'm struggling to generate any outrage!

In that case "Heads Must Roll"!
That one really dwarfs this one in terms of intrigue and excitement.
