@Machpants who are they playing that they will need that strip?
For the Argies? ... maybe England
Either way they get to put out a story and perhaps sell a few shirts.
I'm sure teams themselves mostly aren't interested and would prefer to play with their usual kit.

@KiwiMurph that famous Perth v Dunedin rivalry....grrrrrr shakes fist
Well in fairness, they might have been trying to do the Highlanders/the competition a favour given their form against other NZ teams.....
Or trying to do the force a favour...
Yep, or ... if we, as the yanks say, "do the math" ... three full rounds can't be done for five teams without a bye.
Could be done with 6 teams by including MP, but that would mean MP won't play Drua twice.
Maybe they're doing the Pacific teams a favour...

@KiwiMurph what's a"boom youngster"?
It's a racing industry phrase.
Maybe "the horse guy" has infiltrated ARU after all...

@NTA Maybe if they start him, there won't be anything to fix?
But if they DO need to fixit, and he's already there, what do we do?
What we DO is bring Hooper off the bench into 7/8.
At the game. Decent crowd and stadium is better than I expected.

By the way, if you're looking for the squad lists of the non-NZ teams:
Presumably Fijiana are just just running out the B team for half their games?
"FRU will field two womenโs and a menโs team in the tournament which also consists of three teams from New Zealand"
Seems like an expensive exercise for 42 minutes of rugby. But, I s'pose that's what they've got to do...

If you contact your provider (provided they're not a shit tier ISP) and your area is eligible now, they can probably hook you up in around 5-6 weeks.
My area is NOT eligible now, according to the return email I just received
Ah, shit buzz.
You might still become eligible, though. Think the rollout wil take some years.
@NTA said in Aussie Rugby:
@Kiap not sure about the corrsion, but there is ~930m of copper between my house and the nearest node, so....
I get about 26mbps on average.
I'd say you were right then, 3rd rate -- if there's no dropouts, that is (some other poor saps can't even get consistent 25Mbps).
@NTA said in Aussie Rugby:
Fibre arriving some time soon apparently.
Some folks are already signing up for the FibreConnect upgrade. If you contact your provider (provided they're not a shit tier ISP) and your area is eligible now, they can probably hook you up in around 5-6 weeks.
@NTA said in Aussie Rugby:
@Machpants might upgrade to 4k Stan for July and see whether the extra $10 is worth it... and whether my third-rate* internet can handle it.
(* using "third world" feels inappropriate when the third world often has better internet)
You should be able to get by on 25 Mbps for 4K (so long as not downloading much else) . Some sources even suggest as low as 15 Mbps, although that might be "ersatz 4K"...
So, unless you have corroded copper FTTN**(thanks, Malcolm!) it's worth a shot.
** That would be fourth-rate.
Oh, my goodness!

What annoys me the most is how the Aussies mispronounce his name, yet in the 2000s Wallabies fans/commentators were fine with saying Jannes Labuschagne correctly.
It is at his insistence that it is Labuschange like Champagne. The Hyacinth Bucket of test cricket.
Quite understandable, really. The name would have come from French (boscage = woodland) and then butchered into Afrikaans along the way.
Wouldn't have started out as "Lah-boo-skuhk-knee", fer shure.
And that's the innings....

Rennie used the word "horrendous" to describe some of the officiating in the presser I'm told ๐ฎ
A frustrated man but it wasn't a good look. I expect that, instead of receiving his predicted apology, he'll be delivered, at minimum, a fine.
Lack of discipline ultimately cruelled the team. Could've still won despite the officiating, IMO.
