did it. Really enjoyed it. Great atmosphere.

I did the CIty to Surf in Sydney a couple of times, but only after a big night the night before and walking it and stopping for pies at Edgecliffe Train Station about a quarter of the way.

But I ran this. No official time until Sunday apparently, but think I may have got under 75 mins. Which I would be stoked about.

They had pace runners with different coloured balloons. I was disapointed they didn't have an 80min one so I could be sure I beat him, so thought I would have a go at the 75 min one....until he ran straight passed me at about the 2km mark. Didn't see him again until about 9.5kms. Up ahead through the crowds. So I would speed it up, and then try to reign myself in and just keep my rhthym telling myself I just wanted to finish. Then I would speed up again. Then eventually I passed him with about 1 km to go and just kept it going. Very satisfied and it was in effect the pay off for the last 6 months of hard work and weight loss.

My next goal is a 10km River Run the morning after the Wales v Aust RWC match. Perhaps I will even try to break 60mins. If its a flat course. Which it should be.

After that? The Gold Coast Half Marathon!

never got under 93. Have finished the program at the above weight (thus losing just under 25 kgs in 6 months). Have put on 1.5kgs since, but have set myself a goal of getting under 93 and then staying under 95.

Anyway, am running this damn Bridge to Brisbane on Sunday. 12kms. Takes me about 80 mins at my plodding speed at the moment. Perhaps running with a crowd in day light may hasten me up a little, but I must say, I am kind of looking forward to it. -
Only 93.5 this week

Must get under 93 for next week. It shall be a challenge.

Am entering the Bridge to Brisbane in a few weeks. 12.5kms. My first 'competitive' run.

Shall be interesting. -
down to 93.7, so under 94. Happy with that.

I am predicting a big week this week however as I have a rather intensive excercise regime.

Would love to get into the 92s next week. -
its like a soy sauce I guess.

Thicker though, and more flavorsome. -
mate stir fries have been my staple since Feb.

Do you have a wok? You need high heat and yeah, don't cook too long.

Brown (lightly cook) your meat first (chicken or lamp are my preferences). Then take it off and put it on a plate for a while. Then do the vegies, slow cooking stuff first (onions carrots, capsicum), then bring in your quicker cooking stuff (mushies, snow peas) and then return the meat. Chuck in the meat and some sause (kecap mannis is my go) and some 'erbs (rosemary is good) and youre done. If it is dry, you can always chuck in some stock as well. -
mate - that's fantastic. Keep it up. Don't get too into the drink - your mates should understand.

20kgs!! That's a lot. I've lost that and a little more since January and keep trying to relate it back to things. For instance its two of my middle son (he weighs about 11kgs) and he's bloody heavy to carry.
Aim for 120kg. I'll meet u there and head downwards... I hope. Fuck I'm fucked....
ahhhh NTA, I remember when you said that to me some months ago..... -
I neglected to post last week as I was still in the post birth glow - an enjoying it apparently. Put on weight again - up to 94.8.

Got it down this week. Back down to 94.1. So back refocussed and ready to drop these last few kilos to reach the target.

Officially I am on the Wesley program for just another 6 weeks (or so). I have a specified 6 week training program now to see me out and a (bar/shake free) diet as well. So should get down.

In sadder news, the dietitian I see irregularly (I see someone each week, but it varies) who I almost fell in love with (perhaps the most beutiful girl I have seen with all due respect to the mother of my 3 children) has finished up with me. I will now see someone else for the remainder of the program to see me out. Bugger. I shall miss her. -
I was looking back at photos from around the birth of the first two kids.

I was a fat bastard. -
for the first week I put on weight. Weighed in at 94.4 so thats 200 gms up.

But I aint surprised. My wife gave birth to our third son on the weekend (so she had massive weight loss!!) and you know how it is in hospitals. Food options are not wide and varied (and rarely healthy) and there was no excercise done.

So good news all round. Back into this week I guess. -
oh effing excellent. I assumed there would be something like this around.

Cheers -
Having recently found my running feet, I am going to enter a fun run. Its 12 kms, so I was just wondering how long it takes the runners on this board to run that distance? I run for about 60-70 mins most days and am just curious as to how this compares?

I guess the smart thing would be just to measure out a 12 km course and run it. -
oops, skipped last week.

Anyway, I have broken another barrier/hurdle. Down to 94.2. So thats 200gms shy of 24kgs since the beginning of Feb. Shees what a fat lard I was.

When I started this I put myself in a list of the Oz pro rugby players and I was up just behind the top 6 (Blake, Hunt, Coutts, Ma'afu, Palu and Dunning) and equal with Tuirirangi and Tarinaki. I have adjusted my weight as I have gone and can now boast that I am lighter than Scott Daruda!!! Soon to pass Ben Jacobs. Ultimate target of sitting around Kurtley Beale and Julian Huxley.

As Borat would say....nice! -
The optifast diet works really well if you stick to it, but living off 3 milkshakes a day is bloody hard work and i crave any solid food.
gees, thats harsh I got to have 5 a day, and could have shakes or bars. Have you tried making it in a blender with some ice? Thickens it out a bit, but you are right. You do miss other flavours - and just chewing. -
FBB, well done. That's the surgery that Aussie Comic Mickey Robbins has had and it really is incredible the difference in him. He looks amazing, and fit as well. Very healthy.

How's the optifast? Been there done that. Not too bad.

Great work mate, best of luck. -
bugger, another 800gms, although I didn't have a good weekend with a corporate golf day on.

so am sitting on 96kgs. Would love to break into the 94s next week, but it will require a big week. Am I up for the challenge??? We'll see. -
your wife will come around once the kilos start coming off. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />
-
slowly slowly catch a monkey. Is that the saying? Anway, another 800 grams lost. 96.8kgs. I wasn't too strict on myself this week, so am happy. I want to pull out a big week this one, so we'll see how we go. I just like getting into a new 'band' each week. 98 down to 97 down to 96. So I have to get into the 95s next weigh in.

Am now just down to two bars. Morning team and afternoon tea. Can have proper food for the three main meals. Limited portions and no carbos yet. But breaky this morning of fruit and yogurt was great.

A couple more weeks and I will be having all food, no bars. Still aiming to lose about another 5kgs. -
Ok, weight loss is going to get harder I guess the 'lighter' you get.

97.6 kg now. Have officially lost over 20kgs now. So that's a 1.2kg loss which I am very happy about, but I ran for an hour every day bar one on which I played 1.5 hours of touch.

Still happy. Have actually lost 19cm around my waiste (and 10 cm in the last month! That must be the running) and 10cm from the hips. For the first time in ages my waist is smaller than my hips, which is a sign of better health apparently. The aim is to get the waist down to 94. At about 1cm per 1lg that would put me pretty much on my target of 90-92kg.

This will be an interesting week. I am playing Golden Oldies rugby. First training tonight and possibly first game on Friday (should we get the numbers). Don't know how that type of excercise will impact me, but must avoid the post match beers and pies etc. -
hmmm, only 200gms loss. 98.8. Not too fussed. Only a short week between weigh ins.

I was extra good on my weekend in Sydney. Only one beer and went for a 90 minute jog Sunday morning.

I am expecting big numbers this week as it would seem I am now officially jogging. Actually kind of enjoying it too.
