One of them was in the tank farm, I take it that is derelict now?
she's pretty built up there now - not sure there's space left! Then no doubt the new apartment dwellers would complain

random music story for today - dude I sitting next to at work was just on a video chat with his old man back in canada - who was doing some work for a KISS concert. Gene Simmonds just wandered past in full make up and jumped on the call to say hello very briefly!
and obviously shows anti bully programs at schools must be working, cause that would have been beaten out of them in the good ole days!
if I'd read that students dressing up as a cat thing 3 days ago I would have said you're all insane.
however 2 days ago my daughter was telling me about the kids at her school that dress up as cats.
you're not insane, they are though! Now I want to know who the parents are. surely that's the type of shit you stop doing by 7 years old..

Not an early tackle but there was a jersey pull with the left hand.
Didn't impact anything and you'd see that in every backline move from. Both sides
Overly pedantic
Holy shit havent screamed at the telly like that in a while
fingers crossed welly have some complacency based on round robin result.. when waikato were struggling to field 15 fit players!
cruds won't be there - old man calf muscles take more than a week to come right

Just watched on delay then read the thread. Geez I see a few things differently to many posters but similar to the TV team
Thought LF and Ofa tried to play themselves out of qf 23 tonight. LF was lazy slow and inaccurate but seemed not to get noticed when he played better in midfield in second half. Ofa still looks awkward to me. Gosh I hope Lomax is OK and Newell too. Tamaiti went well.
For me standout mom was Dmac. Can't believe how many times others messed up when he was in a try scoring position. Really don't think Jordan or BB are the answer at 15. It just has to be Dmac. And he was the best 10 on the park as well as 15. Richie seems to slot back too much so Dmac has to be there to compensate.
Not sure why the haters for Luke J. Both he and Cane were close to the ball and effective all day competing against the best Uruguayan.
Roigard can do better and will learn from today but still looks a big threat. ALB did a lot of good work. Others were remarkably quiet.
Looks OK for QF provided Lomax is OK.
yeh I agree with you.
made our bed with sticking with BB - no idea what fozzie was thinking there, hoping BB of 2015 would come back at some point.. father time says get farked!
Roigard was pretty disrupted but shit his pass is inaccurate
ultraslim Williams looking to move into the backline.. looked awesome wide with ball in hand!

@WillieTheWaiter thats awesome!
My sons mates came 1st and 2nd in U14 boys.
Do they get pretty big numbers to that event?
only been involved in schools cycling post-covid - my understanding is numbers are still way down.
not easy to promote - winter sport in nz for many stupid reasons that are 'too hard' to change.
training at 5.30am in the middle of winter on auckland roads only attracts the hardiest of souls and parents who love cycling.
90% of nats attendees are from auckland, yet they do it in palmy, timaru next year - which is an absolute logistical nightmare for anyone to get families and equipment to.

If LF doesn't start next week, he should be on the bench instead of ALB.
pretty unimpressed by him getting skinned on the outside then showing the pace of a president grades prop chasing back and being passed by Whitelock
that was ugly!

so for those who couldn't watch the match and were foolishly following this thread for the score and overall comments, did any loosies play well? Did EB do anything well?
Pretty happy with all 3 -
Cane was everywhere without really standing out but first to the breakdown wherever it was (side bar was just thinking he's looking a lot more trim than in recent times)
Jacobson usual big front on D. Carried well and always looking to get an offload away in the tackle. Bit of miscommunication clearing ball at base of scrum a couple of times to the half. Right on Canes heels.. I'm sure tackle stats will show them making plenty
Frizzell - couple of decent runs hitting the line at speed, don't really recall seeing too much of him but aggressive on D when he needed to be
Blackadder - spilled first touch. one decent run. that's about it
likely leaving cause of the merger between jumbo and quickstep.. will be 4 grandie tour winners on one team. be a few more movements
anyhoo - in more important news closer to home. Youngest took out her age group in the Nat road cycling champs last weekend.
bit of a stressed dad moment - got caught right on the line (her closest to camera) she snuck it by millimeters if the line was 10cm further she would have lost!

@WillieTheWaiter Do you know where Waikato is on the injury front? It's not like WR HQ is forthcoming with updates.
from what i've been told been struggling a bit to put a side together.. have been searching hte country for guys to pull in as all the u20's are injured too
@Bovidae said in Auckland v Waikato:
When I least expect a win Waikato puts in a performance like that. Funny to see Wrampling come onto the left wing so early in the 2nd half.
just needed a reject to come back into the side extremely angry and fired up combined with a massive pre match rark up from the coach then you've got an entire team fired up for a big performance
not exactly something you can bottle up and use on a weekly basis though..
that is farking outrageous. rubbish card at the other end and nothing but repeating cynical plays and NOTHING?!
@Gunner said in RWC: Wales v Fiji:
Where’s the advantage from the knock on at the end there?
Fiji picked it and and would have blimming scored.
This refereeing is abysmal.
Was just having same thought.. absolute shocker blew the whistle as soon as he dropped the ball!
waikato are struggling to put a team together so chuck the house on welly 13+
dunno what they were doing at training.. but all got head knocks.. cruden, sullivan, quinn, norris all injured.. any suitable u20's.. injured!
@Nepia said in Waikato v Counties:
@Bovidae Was this announced previously or is it another Aaron Cruden?
The one and only..
Disappointed I thought the ex AB 10 they got in short term was gonna be Beaver😝
was standing underneath watching trying to get to the office.. never seen so many cops with machine guns. kept getting told to move back.
reading in the paper at work probs fair enough as no windows, were probs worried about pop shots off the side into the crowd below
@WillieTheWaiter said in TdF 2023:
staggering is the only way to describe that performance
only way he can lose from here is if he crashes - cause he takes some risks and sits wayy to close to the wheel in front cornering.. I've never seen someone biff a TT bike around the way he did today pretty bloody impressive!
Today looks pretty brutal, I assume there has to be a chance that Pog can pull out a big one to claw some time back?
It's just over a minute and a half, so it would have to be huge, but if the Pog has good legs...
Anyway, I'll be watching.
would require vinnie to completely crack...
the power numbers those guys are putting out are insane.. saw something that they were putting out 7.5 watts per kg for 15 mins.. for comparison guys like Armstrong and Cadel Evans were doing 6.9 for 5 mins which was super human..
