Deadball corner to opposite deadball corner, there and back is one. You get 1 minute to complete one length, same method as Barts. DO this 10 times, see how fun it gets.<br />

(Approx 3000m in 10minutes. Ouch.)
<br />
<br />
The world record for 3km is around 7.30 min. Your team does this in 10? <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' /> -

How is dead ball corner to opposite deadball corner = 300m?<br />
<br />
300 x 10 = 3000? -
There and back Bar, didn't you learn trigonometry at school?
-
we used to do a similar thing with terraces at our local school. had 60 seconds to run up and down three times, any time left over was rest time. we never really had a set number of times to do it, just until our coach was satisfied that we were all buggered. he was a sadistic asshole!
pissed off with a team you are coaching?<br />
<br />
Give them 20 minutes of death.<br />
<br />
2 minute laps of the field, x 10.<br />
<br />
Have two minutes to complete their laps. If they finisih it in 1:15, they get 45 seconds rest, then go again etc...<br />
<br />
Tight Forwards should be aiming for all 10 laps inside 1:15, loosies / backs 1:05.<br />
<br />
THis is an OLD drill I used to get punished with 15 years or so ago. It still works a treat <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':D' />
<br />
<br />
Haha, had to do this last Monday at training. Quickest gutsache I've ever had. -

Yea, most do it in 10. Didn't say it was an easy thing to do. -

Rugby Suicides and thats what they are for many a front rower -
Bad. Very bad. One other drill that I never want to see again is: <br />
<br />
Dead ball line to five meter, hit tackling bag on five metre, pull it upright (to get the "Get straight up and rip" bit), back (jogging backwards as fast as possible) to try line.<br />
Try line to 22, hit tackling bag, pull it up, back to five. <br />
Five to ten, hit tackling bag, pull it up, back to 22.<br />
Ten to half-way, hit bag, pull it up, back to 22. <br />
22 to ten, hit bag, pull it up, back to 5.<br />
5 to 22, hit bag, pull it up, back to try line.<br />
Try line to 5, hit bag, pull it up, back to dead ball line.<br />
<br />
Repeat until puking occurs. A refinement is that everyone has to get flat on the deck when they get back to the next start-line, call the off together straight away and hit together - with a Henni Muller for each time someone shoots the line. Gets the ripping on the tackle and the getting back into the tackle line as second nature, but alternate it with Henni Mullers and the world takes on a purple tinge around the edges with these little blue sparks dancing across your field of vision... :evil: :-& 8-[ -
Similar - sprint across dead ball line, jog up touchline to tryline, sprint back across that, jog to 22, sprint across, then 10m line, sprint across... jog to half way, sprint across.. then 10m .. etc to the dead ball line. Couple of sets of that and you are gone<br />
<br />
Colts fitness coach was an ex army PT instructor and a complete bastard. One of only a couple of people who have made me hurl during a training session. -
Run from tryline to other tryline and back x 10 - start every 60 seconds<br />
5 min break<br />
Run from tryline to far 22 and back x 10 - start every 45 seconds<br />
5 minute break<br />
Run from tryline to halfway and back x 10 - start every 30 seconds<br />
5 minute break<br />
Run from tryline to closest 22 and back x 10 - start every 15 seconds<br />
Finished.<br />
This session will sort out who is fit and who isnt, the unfit guys will be continually running, unable to complete the lenghts before the time, they will usually start spewing about half to three quarters of the way through the exercise. The fit guys will manage but will be hurting - a real blowout. do this exercise once a week pre season and you should be right for the comp. -
I understand now why I shall forever remain a fat bastard.<br />
<br />
However, on the rare occasions I trained (rugby league), we had one particularly fit bastard who'd play follow the leader - he'd start running (usually on the line markings on the field) and you had to keep up, the only rule was every time he shouted the person at the back had to run to the front position, but remain behind him. Sometimes you'd be running on the touchline and he'd start sprinting. If you didn't keep up he'd make you do it again.
