The Walking Dead Series

18 months since the last post but what the hell. I've been a devout - albeit oft frustrated - fan right throughout.
Since the last post we've seen the end of the Saviour war, Negan imprisoned and latterly set free, Rick disappear, Maggie leave (but set to return soon?), the Whisperers arrive, Jesus get fucked-up, Carol go pretty much nuts, Alpha killed and Negan begin a path to redemption, or so it seems.
Then last night we had Michonnes' last appearance, in one of the more frustrating episodes of recent memory. Rick is gone and I'm not worried if they find him, but Michonne is off on a solo mission to track him down after finding traces of him. It's pointless because with Michonne now written out of the series, her intruiging discovery of a whole bunch of survivors in a moving formation seems set to be buried now for who-knows how long as we no doubt return to the rest of the cast after this one random episode.
The formation intrigued me, but will be consigned to distant memory like the helicopter and the old bird with the records. It's like there's a parallel universe out there we're not allowed to know anything signficant of, but they can hint at.
No doubt now they'll drag the Whisperers out a little longer with Beta leading the charge, and then once they're finally defeated once and for all, another nasty group will emerge to take their place and a war will ensue. The only intrigue is who Stephanie is and who she's with (probably the next enemy group) and if Negan becomes accepted as a leader alongside Daryl, Carol etc and what happens when Maggie returns and discovers this (remember she wanted him dead when Rick imprisoned him and it appeared this was going to lead to a division).
These storylines aside, I'd much rather I could see the end of the whole TWD arc with our survivors on course to find the large group Michonne just discovered, and a happy ending.

@shark I checked out a couple of seasons ago so thanks for the wrap up!
Ha! You finally did it. As I read through some posts on this thread to see where it was at I noticed you kept saying you wanted out but couldn't do it.

Yep I cut the cord finally, a year ago at least maybe? There's too much good tv out there to persist with the frustration of watching TWD.

@Nepia I'm still addicted, but pay for it when I sit through unrewarding episodes like the latest one.
My current show that annoys me but I still watch it is The Handmaids Tale, I'm watching S3 now and just making myself angry.

@Nepia I bailed on TWD in 2018 by the looks...we bailed on S3 of THT too, annoying alright, TBF, finale of S2 pretty much made my mind up that it was gonna suck.
Yeah, the decision making of June at the end of S2 drove me nuts, which is why I put off watching S3 until now. There's still some stuff I like with the show, but they're going to have to have a blinder of a finale to get me to come back for S4.

So, (replying to you so I don't reply to myself), got to Ep 11 of THT and thought this Ep is great I'll keep watching this show next season. Then I watched the finale, Ep 12, and they made a writing decision even stupider than the finale of S2 and on a number of levels. So i was like that's I'm done with you now ... but turns out there's 13 episodes not 12. Now I have to decide if I watch 13 just be a completeist. I guess I have no rugby or league to watch so I may as well suffer the 40 minutes and be done.
