Strong preference to brew low alcohol beers. Table beers or an English bitter type are good. I can dig up a table beer recipe I really rate if you like.
That's what I'm after so that'd be great.
TBH, I'm not a huge beer connoisseur to judge alcohol levels and taste. It's more for some health conscious people we're hosting over Christmas & New Year and it'd be nice to serve them some home brew.
That said, I'm finding some of the 1-2% beers really good (there's a couple of Adnam's low strengths beers I really like)
A mate of mine has given up drinking and brought round some Bach brewing non alcoholic beer. Tasted surprisingly awesome I must say given how awful most 0% beer is.
There are some seriously good low alcohol beers about (as opposed to zero alcohol). You can go out and have 3-4 pints and still be OK to drive
I offered to brew some 0% but then realised how time consuming and costly it is ( apparently you have to brew it as per normal then run it through some filter system to remove the alcohol ? Fuck that ) so had to respectfully withdraw my offer.
From what I've read, 0% really isn't viable.

Yeah you do need to be careful to check the alcohol % when out for a couple of cheekies ESPECIALLY at this time of year, loads more checkpoints around.

Can’t upload an image for some reason…..
But over a six week window I’m brewing….
Mangrove Jack American IPA, Red IPA and Hazy IPA…..
Followed but Black Rock IPA and finally Black Rock Stout.
By mid to late December I’m going to have more awesome beer than I’ll know what to do with.

100L of beer. I'll be fine, until I"m not
seriously, good brew calendar. Have fun! I smashed out a 75L pilsner last weekend, which was enjoyable to brew. Passing it all on to mates for Christmas beersies... happy summer

Yeah with a few social functions coming up a shitload of it will go.
I find I can’t do too many in one go these days anyway, gives me a bit of a headache.

for me, it's not sleeping and then turning into fat bastard that's a bigger issue.
I think a few beers is fine if the rest of the lifestyle is in order.
But homebrew can be pretty fattening, yes.

What a fucken bunch of girls you lot have become, oooh can’t have too many I might put a kilo on, might not get my beauty sleep…fucks sake, it’s true what they say, craft beer is a fucken curse, get some Double Brown into you and a dirty kebab and stay off the fucken scales

yeah, it's not the kilo, it's the 10 kegs I put on the first year I had beer on tap in my house.
Honestly, I've achieved a lot in my life - professionally, marriage, housing, kids, etc ... but the first time I had beer on tap I felt like 'I've made it lads'. Buuuuut it's not good for you. Finding moderation important as I get older, which sucks.
Edit: clearly we're not Palmy Hard like @voodoo

@nzzp I am mightily impressed by some of the shots of homegrown beer on here - looks absolutely delicious. I just don’t have the time to have a go at it, and if I’m honest, I know I’d totally screw it up anyway 🤦♀️
Lame excuses, I expect better.
Putting a brew on takes 10-15 minutes with a ready made kit.
Just follow the instructions, you’ll be fine.
I will admit bottling can be a bit of a pain in the arse but my brewing partner and I have a system which works and it’s easier with two people.

Easier and more fun with a mate as lots of things are…….
( steady on, we’re not league players )
Watch this until it becomes second nature. Then the only danger is complacency ( ie thinking you’ve put the carbonation drops in when you actually haven’t )

strong strong recommendation to go to bulk priming (or spend a bit and go kegging). We used to bottle 80+L in a session - it's just process in the end, but bulk priming is the shot (sugar water into the beer to be bottled)
@voodoo we live in a golden age of brewing hardware. It's like charcoal BBQ - read the instructions, don't improvise before you're confident and you'll be getting happy endings quickly. Thing is though, you have to want to do it - otherwise don't bother starting.
It's fun! And you make good cheap beer!

Fucken Amen to this. Our Stout tastes just like Panhead Stout. My mates were absolutely amazed I actually made it and will be getting kits themselves.
