Fatbusting: MvJ's log (a blob's blog)
-
MvJ continues to do minimal fatbusting, and still hasn't gained a gram. It's definitely in the diet; I have all but given up meat. And I'm really loving the veges; I just don't miss meat at all. <br />
<br />
In fact, when I'm sober at work tomorrow, I'm going to start a "how long can you go without meat" thread, given my complete capitulation to Kirwan's no-alcohol challenge. -
MvJ was planning on starting a new assault on the remaining kilograms, but a flanker ran into me at rugby yesterday and I can't even walk. My entire right leg is bruised below the knee, and it bloody hurts. Hence I ordered pizza for dinner tonight, and scotch last night. <br />
<br />
Today has been spent lying on the couch. <br />
<br />
However, once this recovers (by the weekend hopefully) I plan a full-scale last attempt on the summit. I reckon I've done half the fatbusting, now it's just 30 more days-- 4 weeks-- of excercycle and running, plus the run-off of the rugby season and some decent healthy meals, and I'll make 70kg.<br />
<br />
Also not helping though is the shitload of piss I have been sinking since I got / gave myself my marching orders. 15 days to go. Still, that has improved my contributions to the Fern if MvJ may say so himself. -
Definitely the GLI* is way down recently :whistle:<br />
<br />
NTA's mother - a Registered Nurse for the last 40 years or so - believes whole lifetimes of physical pain can be taken care of with a simple regimen of 2 paracetamol and an appropriate amount of Scotch and water each evening. This is from a woman who has the keys to a room full of amazing legal drugs (every colour of the rainbow) yet chooses her own method. I say go with it MvJ.<br />

I have been working on it NTA, with the help of some Nurofen gel and a liberal dose of red wine. The leg is still variously black, purple, red and yellow and the girls at work say it is "icky." It hurts to jog. I feel really tough. I am the man. <br />
<br />
I think running next week will be out of the question, but I'm going to hit the exercycle. <br />
<br />
We will have to see how it goes at rugby today. These things are always fine if you warm them up properly. It's the warming up that hurts <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rolleyes:' /><br />
<br />
It's been raining cats and dogs here in Sydney, fortunately. I have a feral Colts game and I'm screwing in the long sprigs. If they call it off because of the weather, MvJ is going to go Phooey-style ballistic. -
Obtained wicked secondary bruising, turned my whole ankle purple and black. Fortunately I spend Saturday night at a chick's house, Oddly though, although the bruising looked much worse this week, it hasn't hurt a bit and I'll be back on the exercycle this week. <br />
<br />
There's no rugby this weekend (Queen's Birthday here in Oz) which is a right shit. I think I'll grab the bull by the horns and go for a decent run somewhere. -
After a couple of weeks of no fatbusting (save for rugby on Saturday), MvJ got serious today. I start a new (temp) job tomorrow, so what better way to spend a Monday than by going for a long walk. 16kms, as it turned out, with hills and stuff as well. MvJ left his filthy Potts Point bachelor pad and headed to Bondi Beach, via Rushcutters Bay, Edgecliff and Bondi Junction. Then he came back via Rose Bay and Double Bay. <br />
<br />
The fish and chips and coffee on the beach were rather nice too. Anyway it was just what I needed, including for my mental health which has improved markedly from a nice long walk. I'm going to do that again as soon as I get a chance. If I work out how to attach images, I'll post one of MvJ on Bondi Beach (fully clothed, rest assured). -
75.6kg, and steady, and that after breakfast. <br />
<br />
Am not fatbusting wildly, but I am off meat and I went for a big walk today. And I'm finding opportunities to walk lots of places (like to Aussie for a rugby meeting last week, and the same again is scheduled for this week). Amazing how those simple holding patterns (combined with a game each week of course) can stop me blobbing out. But sooner or later I'm going to get that last 3.8kg. -
Best ever gift from God: we play touch rugby at work once a week! So MvJ signed up today, headed along and strutted his stuff. Think I pulled every muscle in my arse, but I think I've finally got the missing piece in the training puzzle. I'll see how the weight goes over the next few weeks, then set a deadline for the magic 71.8kg, i.e. 10kg fat busted.
-
More touch at work today, in the hot sun. Plus they're planning another game for Thursday. Aaah... it's tough.

<br />
ye gods man.....what were your doing that was pulling muscles in your arse? -
Running fast. This time however I did the smart thing and got on the opposite team to our sexy young paralegal. MvJ got to touch a hot chick <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

<br />
and let me guess.....there were two-handed, front-on touches aplenty? <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /><br />
<br />
Anyway, Miller, I still can't quite figure out how you were pulling muscles in your arse by running fast? Having done my fair share of sprinting, I can confidently say I've never pulled muscles in my arse. Hammies, quads, and calves....yes. But glutes?!<br />
<br />
Maybe as a referee, you're not accustomed to busting your arse? :whistle: -
It may be a co-incidence but I cannot find my pogo stick.
-
you haven't, by any chance, had NtA around for a beer recently? <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

That may explain it... <br />
<br />
Damn hard game of rugby today, in wet conditions, with the winning team running it from everywhere. Thought I dropped back for the kicks well (so easy not to) and was rewarded when there was a charge down leading to a try late in the game. That's the hardest I've had to run for a while.<br />
<br />
Bring on touch on Tuesday; the fat is effing dead! -
Decided to run off the tired feeling in the legs tonight. <br />
<br />
The good news: I survived.<br />
<br />
The bad news: My time of 18.53 was below my personal best of 16.15 by a shed load. <br />
<br />
The verdict: I'll take that as fatbusting records indicate I last did that run on 21 March 2006 (4 months ago!)Â <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' /> So at least I can build from there. It felt good.
