Wales Vs France, Six Nations 2020

Coming up in 20 minutes. Might be worth watching. Last year's Grand Slam winning against the team top of the table after two rounds this time.
-
Been some great chat this week ahead of the game:

Prop Wyn Jones said he expected France's pack to "cheat" in their bid to gain scrum supremacy when the teams meet in Cardiff.
The Scarlets player expects France to bend the rules, saying: "We know they'll hit and chase and cheat."
"They don't have to say this sort of thing in the Six Nations," said Galthie.
"It's a lack of respect," he added. "A lack of respect for our scrum. A lack of respect for our team. A lack of respect for French rugby. A lack of respect for our nation.
"In the last two matches their scrum has gone down 13 times and has been penalised six times, while we've been penalised four times."

The Welsh team has the most caps of any side in 6 Nations history.
-
French Prop lying on the wrong side.
Early penalty shot for Dan Biggar. 3-0
-
Halfpenny totally messes up a high one. Bouthier in for the 1st try for France. .
3-7
-
Good game this. Both sides trying to play.
Wales 3 France 10 after 20 minutes.
-
The Referee, England Matthew Carley, is doing a very good job.
-
Biggar with another penalty.
Wales 6 France 10.
-
Lovely French try. Welcome back French flair.
Looked to be a forward pass in there though.
-
No try. Bouthier passed in forward. More than a few glimpses of brilliance from France now. Give them a couple of years and they will be some side.
-
Clever lineout work by French. Willemse the French lock in.
Wales 6 France 15
-
Conversation good. Wales 6 France 17.
Very impressed by France, especially the half back Dupont.
-
Biggar slots a simple penalty after a long period of Wales on attack.
9-17. Good game this.
-
Excellent defence there by France at the end of a 46 minute half. Wales camped on the try line for nearly ten minute there but they could not pass.
Half time 9-17
-
France are the real deal this 6N. Just see if they fade or not.
-
French counter rucking superb. They put enormous pressure on the opposition half back.
-
Try by Dillion Lewis. The Welsh Prop. Great character by Wales to get back in this.
16-17.
-
Ntamack with an intercept try.
16-24.
-
Ntamack penalty. Very good performance by him.
16-27 with 17 minutes to play.
-
Nothing clear and obvious there, even on super slow mo. Jiffy and Eddie Butler need to calm down.
-
Young French replacement Props (aged 20 and 21) struggling now.
-
Romain Ntamack is a future all timer.
He’s going to give us some rugby nightmares in the future. Serious talent.

Reminds me a bit of Dan Carter. See things on the Rugby field before they happen. Super calm.
-
Ten to go. Impressive character and resilience by Wales to be still in this.
France very impressive but still Ill -disciplined at times.
-
Biggar over with six to go. Did he ground the ball? On field decision is try.
-
Try given by the TMO. Looked a bit rough on Ntamack IMHO. Four point ball game with 5 minutes to go.
23-27.
-
Wayne Barnes, a touch judge, penalises Alun Wyn Jones and he is not happy at all.
-
Kick wide. 2 and a half minutes to go.
-
Ntamack rightly named MoM.
-
Impressive breakout by Wales reaches the France 22. But Tompkins holds on too long on the ground. Penalty.
Kicked out. All over. Wales 23 France 27.
3 out of 3 for France in 2020 6 Nations so far.
-
Game of 2020 so far IMHO. France beginning to look like the business.

Cracking game. Thing which impressed me was Les Frogs composure when running riot and when under the pump. Ntamak Jr particularly impressive.

Worth watching just to see what watching rugby could be without commentators
-
As with all our 'close' matches the past 12 months, outplayed for most of the match but still in with a shout then we force it and lose.
Had more than enough opportunities to win that especially when France were down to 14 men but we lacked critical composure and clinical decision making.
Disappointing.

Definite knock down, should have been at least yellow.
Penalty try not certain.
Poor reffing.

Ref got it about right IMHO. The hand was out to make the tackle. Not clear and obvious that it was an intentional knock down or that the player would have scored.

I'm with this. Seemed more 'ball into hand' than 'hand into ball'. Maaaaybe a penalty, btu no way a YC or PT. It's just rugby

No, definitely knocked forward...

France deserved its win. The two South African locks made a nuisance of themselves in the rucks, while Dupont continually disturbed the Welsh attacks with his rush defence. Wales just could not cope against these tactics.
