Just looking at your picture. How long ago did Matt Dunning play for COBRAS?

Sorry mate . Thats 2.2gm of protein/kilo of body weight not pound of bodyweight. Shit lucky you didnt follow that, youd end up looking like me.

Gday Red beard.
Have got a bit of info off EAS (top supplement brand) - they recommend at least 2.2 gm protein/ pound of body weight each day. But to gain weight and muscle size, one could eat to the bodyweight they would like to reach (within reason). Make sure to have protein in all six meals and you should have no worries with overdosing. Make sure you get a good quality protein into you straight after your weights sessions. Im sure your local gym would sell some EAS products. I would recommend the Myoplex delux or Myoplex sport - great for hard gainers. -
Just thought I would chuck another rowing option in for your training - in case you getting bored. On the new concept rowers they have a few custom sessions built into them. Did 1 today;

1 min on - 1 min off
2 min on - 2 min 0ff
3 min on - 3 min off
4 min on - 4 min off
3 min on - 3 min on
2 min on - 2 min off
1 min on - 1 min off.

Kept it under 1.35 for the 1 and 2 min sprints and under 1.40 for the rest. Thought the rest periods looked to long when I first started but needed them - Only 16 mins of actual rowing time but a farkin beauty workout. -

No - have only ever rowed for 30 - 40 mins at a time - have always wanted to have a crack at the marathon though. Will keep you posted.
-
Have you ever had a crack at the marathon Bart. Its actually set as a programme on my rower - have not tryed it - Yet! Should be able to do it in less than 3 hours if you kept your speed under 2.00/500m.

Good shit red beard -I hope she has her mothers looks.

Just thought i would paste some reading on the carbs at night debate. - (its off the web - it must be true)

I believe carbs are best eaten in the morning (to replenish depleted liver and muscle glycogen stores after a night of sleep), before workouts (to supply fuel for energy) and after your workout (to refuel muscle and liver glycogen and to spike insulin levels for stimulating muscle growth). For fat loss, we typically recommend avoiding carbs later at night; if you did a good job of replenishing your muscle and liver glycogen throughout the day, then any excess carbs at night--a time when you're least active--will be readily converted to fat.

I have eaten carbs (lots of carbs) at night during a rugby season without putting on any fat as I was working hard enough to burn it off; but I think someone who has been inactive (sedentary) will benifit from avoiding carbs at night.
