Ok fellas, got a question not tech that leads to another.
1 As I planning trip overseas later in year, I have set up a Wise debit card, seems good, has anyone heard bad things about them>
2 I can have a digital card etc, but if I want it in google wallet I have to set screen lock, is there anyway I can have a lock (pin ) just for Google wallet. I don't want to lock screen on phone all the time as I find it a complete pain in the arse!!

Hmm
Herbert said Rugby Australia was concerned about New Zealand and South Africa formulating a plan for old-fashioned tours in 2026 and 2031, which would lead to an eight- or nine-game tour being played during the Rugby Championship window.
It would mean a truncated Rugby Championship for the Wallabies and Argentina, which would mean a reduction in the much-relied upon Test revenue. Herbert said Australia would be looking for compensation if it was to approve.
Do SANZAAR decisions need to be unanimous?
Not sure if they do, but not sure SANZAAR could stop teams doing tours etc.
It's actually interesting article about Herberts ideas, not saying I agree witrh them, but he rightly talking about what he thinks is good for Aus rugby, which is as he should. Also is honest in hiw assesment that Aus rugby isn't really an attractive marketing package at moment, so there is more money probably to be made with matches apart from them? -
Well I got Crusaders in my picks, and genuinely think they can/will do this.
Mind you I was pretty confident last week too!!!

Wow, this says it all with no holds barred!
I saw read that, but he obviously not too worried about having the same employer, or he can fix that himself surely? A letter of resignation would take care of who employs them both
(“I don’t know how this bloke has continued to be employed by the network that employs me,” Hadley said.
“That’s a decision for people who are on a higher post than me.)

Agree. Super rugby has, in my view, huge potential. But not if it continues to be subservient to test rugby. This must be kicked into touch in some way
I just hope they have found someone great. Not just OK as they couldn't find someone who was super-duper.
TBH, you've got league if you want club/franchise to dominate rather than tests.
Also, that face and added to his "marketing" background has me already feeling nervous.
I'm already resigned to this being a fizzer of an appointment. Does anyone know what ground-breaking implementations he was responsible for at Canterbury or the A-League? Have either of them substantially increased revenue or market share? Any fundamental changes to competition structures resulting in tangible benefits?
You sound a real joy and a positive person , looking to be negative about someone don't seem to know anything about.
Gotta love forums don't ya?Thanks Mr Awesome Supporter of All Things Rugby, but I did lay out my concerns that we'd managed to land someone none of us were aware of before and questionable achievements. Certainly no one appears to be saying "fuck yes" do they? But thanks again for your input.
Mate I may support rugby, but where as you see a new appointment and think the best thing to do is say it's a fizzer etc. As I say you must be a joy to be around, and for me it's not just rugby, I genuinely always do look on positive side and don't rubbish someone new I don't know until I have seen his work. But good on you keep your glass half empty!
-
@Nepia Mate that's the problem of becoming an Aussie, you have to pay their prices . But genuinely I didn't realise that prices for game were high in Sydney, guess because I don't have to worry about them, and subsequently don't care. But having a quick look online they seem to be about $65 for platinum which doesn't seem over the top to me. I admit to not really following other sorts , so don't know their prices anyway. But as you say would be nice if we could all pay price we did in the 90s for tickets on a hill etc (though no good for me. I like proper seat at my age)

@Nepia So what sport or team do you support Nepia? Tickets to Canes are up to $50 at Caketin, and I interested to know what sports you follow where you still get $10 tickets and sit on hill.
I will add I not probably someone who goes to sprts events to drink beer anyway, but don't know any that even sell jugs etc. I see no point in drinking piss and needing to bugger off for a leak break, because I go to watch the game.
The fact is for many of us to be a sports fan is to go to games and many fimd it easier to just sit at home and watch on tv. And all power to whichever we are, me I love going to rugby, because at park I can actually see whole game and watch as much as I can with players off ball etc. Doesn't make me better, same as Mariner needing stars to pay for tickets etc, we all do it our own way.Hmm, I think you completely misread that.
@mariner4life and I aren't discussing any current prices, we're discussing going to games as uni students in the 90s.
Ok, I thought Mariner was going crook about prices of tickets etc, so apologies this is where confusion came in for me. Didn't mention Skarvies in the 90s.
(but if i am forking out what they are charging for a fucking ticket to a game these days, i want to see elite talent, not reserve graders.)
But out of interest, Mariner doesn't follow Chiefs as he has lived in Aus for a long time etc, and you said you go along but chnge it to Canes, so again apologies ,I not sure what you meant.
Out of interest I lived in Aus for 24 years but funnily enough remained a rusted on Canes fan for whole time, (even though I not from Wellington) they were my team when Super started and being a boring bastard they always will be. -
@Nepia So what sport or team do you support Nepia? Tickets to Canes are up to $50 at Caketin, and I interested to know what sports you follow where you still get $10 tickets and sit on hill. I used to pay $10 and sit on hill at Ballymore, but 20 odd years back, and I erant a lot less then people do nowadys.
I will add I not probably someone who goes to sprts events to drink beer anyway, but don't know any that even sell jugs etc. I see no point in drinking piss and needing to bugger off for a leak break, because I go to watch the game.

you (like a fair few) a star follower perhaps and not a team one
no, not even remotely the case
but if i am forking out what they are charging for a fucking ticket to a game these days, i want to see elite talent, not reserve graders.
(as an aside, i was talking to Dad about why i just cared so little about the Chiefs now. It's because i left the Chiefs region 22 years ago. Being from BOP I fucking hate Waikato so why support a team based there? There is nothing tying me to them other than nostalgia for $10 tickets to Rugby Park including a jug at the Outback. They are not my home team, a fact that has never been hidden. So why care?)
Yep mate as I said I understand that, but as I said no way can players play every game in rugby.
But you just confirmed what I said, you not paying for tickets if the stars aren't playing. But I not sure that Super tickets are all that pricey anyway.
I can understand your Waikato dislike etc, as a lot of teams have made alliances with teams that are traditional rivals as they are next door, and no probs with that. Hell that was one of things people said when Ta$man was formed in NPC etc.
I realise you live in Aus, and you don't support Chiefs, do you support Rebels or someone over there? -

Interesting to see how rests for international players get handled now
How is a new CEO going to make any difference to that? He is the CEO os board, not the coach of individual teams etc.
because previously Super was a subsidiary to SANZAAR (or whatever it's called now). If they have genuinely spun this up as a standalone entity, the directives to Super players and coaches should be going through the new entity and the new CEO.
Super was the best comp in the world for a long time - it's been a pale shadow of its former self. The question is whether Super is just a feeder for internationals, or a proper standalone competition.
Only if the super teams (or SANZAAR) are going to be paying their wages mate. He is the CEO and not the master etc, and still answers to board.

Comparing rugby to NRL is apples and oranges too, but you do you too.
not when they are directly competing for the same eye balls it's not.
If i buy a ticket to watch say the Panthers v the Titans, i can be assured that, barring injury, i am watching Edwards, To'o, Cleary, Yeo, and JFH. So i will go
If i was thinking about buying a ticket to say, the Chiefs v the Crusaders, and the team was named without DMac and Finau, i'm saving my money. To me that is the difference.
Yep Mariner I see your point, you (like a fair few) a star follower perhaps and not a team one? Nothing wrong with it, so not getting at you, but that's what it is. I know in a game like rugby,I don't expect to see top (or any ) players every week, just how the game is.
I went to Canes vs Rebels where Canes made a shit load of changes, but it was still my team so I was there with bells on and loved every minute watching my team play. -

Fucking clown show
Franks and moody starting should not be even in the squad.
Hohepa selected again he is just not up to it.
Penny needs to go Perrin can fuck off as well we can’t defend rolling mauls, don’t have a decent line out ,
Fuck up the kick off receives looking at you Perrin forwards coach you can’t fix fuck all.Tell us how you really feel about them Chris.
I understand your pain and good to vent isn't it? -
Well I watched first 20 minutes and saw a couple of teams that seemed to be full of journeymen players etc stumbling from one thing to next and said bugger me it's bed time! There is nothing from the bit I saw that would make you think the Crusaders are a team that is on same page, I get impression that Franks and Moody in front row are just going through motions, and really feel they may of been around too long. The rest of forwards look to be just looking for someone else to do the hard work so they can get in behind them. Backs are pretty average altogether, starting with Drummond and Hohepa who both look NPC standard , and so it goes on!
Rob Penney and co look lost in coaching box even! -

@foobaNZ I think the fact Aumua didn’t go off on a stretcher means the injury is hopefully less dramatic compared to Roigard. He looked sore though so at the very least he’ll probably be out for 3 weeks or more. Fingers crossed it isn’t a season ending injury because O’Reilly simply isn’t on the same level and we don’t have much depth at hooker.
I just assumed there no decent stretcher handy!!
