Went to Wu Tang last night in akld. Primo gig and def a bucket list moment. Never dreamed I'd get to see the full crew onstage, raekwon and method man were on fire. But everyone was good. Even old dirty's son did a good job of his lyrics and swagger. Good times!!

The promoter must have fired the sound engineer after the Christchurch gig. Worst sound of any gig I’ve ever been to

I saw them on Discipline and Three of a Perfect Pair tours and they were amazing; the latter is in my top ten shows. The mushrooms didn’t hurt. If you take the best of the Disciple-Beat-TOAPP trilogy you can make a pretty incredible cd.

This is an awesome super-heavy tv appearance from 1967, with an introduction by Casey Kasem. Heavy Yardbirds influence. The song title kills me.

I did.....and even being pasty and freckly I still actually have brown hair with a very red beard. Is that a real ranga ?
Anyway being an old stick in the mud who has a dad who brought me up with top music I have to retort with this.
Even albinism and a heroin habit couldn't stop old mate Johnny from dominating. Best slide guitarist that's ever lived.

@MN5 my ex absorbed my Johnny Winter and Clarence Brown albums into her 2000 or so other lps she had . I miss them way more than I ever missed her.
Little known fact . It’s not actually ginger hair if it’s only on your face , that colour is known instead as Viking Sunset .

Righto....
Anyway back to music....it shits me that Clapton gets all the accolades as a white bluesman when so many of the blokes he invites along to his festival shit all over him.
Early ZZ top are a prime example of this. Great fun but also bluesy....

Yeah the original Crossroads festival had loads of guitarists that I enjoyed more than his act there.
Thoughts on Tim Buckley?

Preferred old mate Jeff who had arguably THE best voice of his generation which says a lot given Mike Patton and Chris Cornell were hanging around....
I can't listen to this without thinking bout the ex
-
@MN5 just to be clear, my upvote wasn’t for your ex, it was for Jeff. If ever there was a case for wondering what might have been, he’s the one I ask it about.
BTW, loved Tim Buckley too, although I’ll grant that not many bother to acquire the taste. Interesting that it was in fact Jeff’s stepdad who turned him onto music, not Tim. But the similarity in voices is uncanny.

This - so much this.
Jeff Buckley, and Darcy Clay.... although Jeff was pretty much a sure thing, Darcy could have been great or a trainwreck.
