Richard Pryor.
Eddie Murphy.
Bill Hicks.
Sam Kinison.
Dave Chapelle.
Ricky Gervais.
Bill Burr.
And the incomparable George Carlin.
I watch a fair bit of Netflix comedy and none of the modern ones compare.

Sam Kinison was originally gonna be Al Bundy. Thank God Ed O'Neill was instead.

Just tried watching some Joe Rogan...
- I understand that recently he's had a podcast which seems to be lionized here, and watching.listening to a single "episode" he actually seemed reasonable...
- and yeah, most of the stuff I've seen when he's been bald - not bad
- But holy shit... he was fucking terrible when he had hair

Agree, its a surprise he made it so far considering his start. Way better now.

To be fair - I cringe whenever I somehow come across my own earlier attempts at literature and/or comedy.
Edit:
Just last week - a mate sent me an email reminding me of something I sent to the "Soldier of Fortune" magazine as a piss-take... was not as cringeworthy as most, but... -

Interesting you find them equally attractive. I guess if you have a type....
Well he's clearly got no fucken sense of humour. Creepy sex fetishes stands to reason.
It seems you're the one that brought sex into it fella, booboo didn't mention anything of the sort...
Anyway what are the shows since extras you think aren't good?

Yes he did. Stop trying to pick apart my posts.
Probably thinking of him hosting the Oscars but I think even he himself took the piss in his stand up about that.

@MN5 nah he didn't.
Ok. I'm sure he appreciates the white knighting.
What is it with you welly city cats and comprehension?

Haha yeah i thought that was decent but mn5 didn't even know it existed, hence the query 😁

Just on Joe Rogan, it wasn't his stand up brilliance (or complete lack of) that got him to where he is now. It was his UFC hosting/commentary. Without that, or even his Fear Factor gig, I doubt anyone here would have heard of him.

He was on a show called News Radio before fear factor, Ray Romano was supposed to play the part but got yanked at the last minute in favour of Rogan . I liked NewsRadio , it had a decent cast . Well up until Phil Hartmann’s wife killed Phil , Troy McLure and Lionel Hutz and then killed her self.
He’s also been in some terrible, terrible movies.

When people do that 'who would you invite (alive or dead) to a dinner party?' thing I always imagine the absolute chaos if you had Billy, Spike Milligan and Robin Williams all riffing off each other.
I couldn't stand Robin Williams but obviously it became cool for people to like him after he succumbed to the Black Dog.
Actually despite my heritage Billy Connolly didn't do it for me consistently either.
