Building myself back up

Friday: Back and tris. Good one that one.
Saturday: Swimming. More personal training. Pretty brutal session but was a great way to start the day.
Sunday: Bit of an epic run. Ended up doing almost an hour, although there were stops for some ab intervals and I usually walk the first 500m or so. Not sure how far it was because Strava hates me and my phone apparently.
Monday: Swimming. No wind so not as bad this time and water temp perfect. Another dude there, so pain could be spread. This was fooking hard.
25m max, easy back, then 25m max kickboard, easy back X farking 8. I absolutely hate kickboard but the super coach has vastly improved my technique. Still a total cnut to do.Before that was 25m underwater (with flippers) then 1 lap breathing every 5 strokes, then every 7, then every 9. 4 of those. That shit is hard!

@Rancid-Schnitzel sooooo when does that shit cross over into autoerotic asphyxiation!! You sure your coach isn't a secret kinky mofo!!

Maybe! He kept stressing how important it was to stay relaxed and make slow, steady movements. I went underwater, closed my eyes and ended up going sideways diagonal under two other lanes. When my hands hit what I thought was the end of the pool, I realised it was actually the side of the pool.๐คฃ The shame...

@Rancid-Schnitzel lol, just shut your eyes and reach out. Lucky you only 'touched' the side of the wall

Tuesday: Shoulders. Never really lets me down. No pain either so very happy.
Wednesday: Needed sleep after being woken by smoke alarm and girlfriend's cat that I'm looking after while she's skiing in NZ. Farking ginger feline bรฅstard is nocturnal and likes to attack my feet. Fussy little cnut when eating as well. Will be happy to let the gf and daughter move in but this cat might cause issues. I'm a cat person, but this one is giving me the shรฏts. Felt like crap the entire day.So anyway, no exercise in the AM but swimming in the PM. Great PT session again. This guy is awesome. Was just what the doctor ordered.
Thursday: Chest and biceps. Really good. No farking around.
Not sure about swimming tonight but might give it a miss. 3 a week is enough at this stage. Might add another session in a couple of weeks. -
Friday: Farking cat woke me at 3 and most of the day was feeling like death. Managed to get to the gym before school pickup and it was a struggle but felt much better afterwards.
Saturday: Swimming. This kind of broke me. Shit load of rolling IMs. Fark butterfly.
Sunday: Had best night sleep I've had in ages. Cat miraculously silent. Went for epic run in afternoon. Perfect temp now.
Monday: Swim. Another tough one. Was struggling halfway through but was ok at the end. Doing some really cool breathing stuff. Can do 25m underwater without much problem now.

@Rancid-Schnitzel your missus will be stoked with how long you can hold your breath for

Dang. Friday already.
Pretty good week.
Tuesday: Back
Wednesday: Legs am, swimming pm
Thursday: chest and biceps am, swimming pm
Friday: Back and tris.Swimming tomorrow morning should round it off well. Will ask this coach for a meal plan. I've never really done this amount of training (certainly swimming) before and not sure if my usual diet is adequate. Will be interesting to see what he recommends. So long as there's a treat meal in there somewhere I'm happy to eat whatever is recommended (except tinned tuna, hate that shit).
-
Saturday: Swimming. Good session. Coach not there but put up a very good set.
Sunday: More stationery exercise than anything else.Monday: Swimming. Always nice to jump into a warm pool on a cold day but it was like a warm bath this time. That's my excuse for struggling and hitting the wall for the 8x50 at 60sec. Couldn't feel my farging arms after 5. On a more positive note, butterfly is getting better and I'm actually starting to enjoy IMs. They certainly take it out of you though...
Asked coach for an eating plan because I think I need to change things up to get through 4 sessions. He asked for my weight (75kg) and didn't believe me and one of the women there said bullshit. Stepped on the scales and it was actually slightly less ๐. Will be interesting to see what he comes up with. Definitely need to get more sleep but definitely also something lacking in the diet.
Today: Shoulders. Not bad. Visit to the Physio on the cards me thinks. It's against my tightarse nature but I think I need a good rub down....

Well apparently I don't look it. They thought I was significantly more than that. I'm deceptively light ๐

The most I got to was 90 back in my late rugby days. That's alot for a short arse like me. Wasn't exactly shredded. Would have freaked out at being 75 then, but back then it was all about the GAINZ BRUH!

Sheet, almost a week. Will start from weekend. So solid swimming sesh on Saturday (ha, try saying that 3 times fast). Then had 10km fun run with gf on Saturday. That went really well. Shows you can train for a run by swimming. Have done very little running recently and still managed around 46 minutes. Could probably have done better but for the ridiculous bottleneck at the start (why do people go up the front if they'll tank after 200 metres) and the fact that no distances were marked on the course. But anyway pretty stoked with that and happy that the swimming is obviously great for overall fitness. Same applies for eldest who despite being very pissed off at having to get up at 6 on a Sunday did very well in his 5km. Youngest couldn't make it so got eldest to take his place in the 1km kids dash with gf's daughter. Yeah, shouldn't have done that. He's 14 and kids run was 11 max. He was about 3 heads taller than everyone. He was supposed to just run with gf's daughter but he got bored and put on the afterburners. Thank Christ he left it too late and came in 4th. So farking embarassing. Shameful, but at least we got another medal. No shirts though. Had to pay for them. Bastards.
Swimming this morning which was perfect for sore legs. Not a particular hard session either so good start to week.

I was really unsure how it would go, but clearly anaerobic swimming training gives me pretty decent aerobic fitness. Wish I'd pushed harder or had one of those pace setter dudes with the balloon attached. Really wish I was into swimming as a youngster.
