He says they need a big scalp to convince him , reckons when the heat goes on they go missing.

I guess the next month will show us

The fading Cats, Adelaide away, Sydney, West Coast and GWS will certainly tell them exactly where they are at. They could easily only beat Gold Coast and finish on 11 wins.

Considering the talent they have all over the field, they should be playing finals this year. Realistically though, 12 wins probably gets you 8th (especially with a % of 130+) so they only need to win one other game (assuming GC is a lock).

Dees will find it even tougher without Viney for up to a month. Big Max is playing well though.

Two huge wins to the Dees the last two weeks, and 5 or 6 on the bounce now. They're fantastic to watch and could be genuine contenders but need to atone yet for a couple of bad losses earlier in the season before I get really excited. Might sound odd given they're in third spot but they've still been inconsistent in quality of performance and I'd love to see them knock over West Coast, Richmond or Sydney but we don't get Richmond again in the regular season and the others are back to back in August. Pity we don't get a revenge shot at Hawthorn either.

Agree re the quality of the Dees' opposition and the frustrating losses. I was saying the same stuff back in late May.

Not one if those fans that talk their own team down hoping like hell they actually do good?

@booboo a bit of that , also after years of disappointments , you can become a pessimist and look for the negatives, Richmond supporters were like that

Was mainly watching the Lions just miss out, but that was a hell of a comeback by Geelong. Great game.

Great shot after Zach’s kick of the 10 Melbourne players on the mark just turn at the same time and watch it go through.

I’m a big Ablett and Dangerfield fan but Selwood and Chris Scott are my hatiest player and coach in the AFL.

I'm in Bangkok in my hotel room and was unaware that game was going on when I posted an hour ago, sounds like the dees find a way to fail again when it counts .

Found a bar yesterday to watch the canes v chiefs then the tiges v saints

    Interesting weekend.

Richmond with their gimme to stay top
Collingwood smack North to reinforce top 4.
Sydney lose to the Gold Coast, at home, to put top 4 in jeapardy.
Essendon win as expected to stay in teh running.
Geelong win a game they shouldn't have to put Melbourne in trouble, but still drop out of the 8
Adelaide win to stay in the hunt
Hawthorn in to the 8 with their gimme
West Coast win as expected to go 2nd
And then Port fuck up the golden opportunity presented by Sydney by losing to GWS who jump to 6th

Conclusions? It's still absolutely Richmond's to lose. Carlton are fucking terrible.

Massive game for the traditionalists ,

Saturday arvo at the g , Richmond and Collingwood top of the table clash ,

That was a regular fixture in the 70s , and probably hasn’t happened since 1980 which happened to be the last time they played in a gf.

Spewing I’m going to miss it live , atmosphere will be something else .

the crowd will be enormous. Great atmosphere. 100,000 bogans yelling "BAAAAALLLLL" every time someone half makes a tackle.

Bogans did that deliberately just to make it more difficult for us

    This AFL season is weird

The Lions kicked the highest losing score of just 78. Three teams kicked less than 50, Freo kicked 53.

Biggest winners the Tigers who basically cemented the Flag by easily taking care of the only other team that may have been able to match them on the MCG; and GWS who seem to be finding form at the right time.

Biggest losers are Sydney, who in the space of two weeks have gone from top 4 to our of the 8. And they look terrible doing it as well.

The team to bow out of the finals race this week was the Crows.
