I expect QB Joe Flacco will have an excellent season. The Ravens have finally got him some receivers to play with in Michael Crabtree, Willie Snead and John Brown as well as drafting a new tightend in Hayden Hurst. They also drafted Jackson and that will light a fire under Flacco too.

He's 33! Just been watching younger Joe win a SB while I've been exercising ... he's not bad at all, but not sure how they will go. Also, Ray Lewis may be a despicable human being, but he was one hell of a player.

How Rookie Year Playing Time Impacts a QB’s Future Chances of Success

How Rookie Year Playing Time Impacts a QB’s Future Chances of Success

One of the most common debates when discussing rookie quarterbacks is whether or not they should start day one. Some contend that holding him back is delaying the inevitable, and that the best move...

Interesting article about the relationship between games started as a rookie qb and career performance. Generally guys who aren't deemed ready to start in their rookie seasons just aren't good qbs. The exceptions are rookies behind hof qbs (rivers and Rogers the examples in the article, Garropolo likely to be another case).

Was interesting to me given the number of guys taken in the first round this year with a project tag, and the relatively low quality of guys in front of them.

Going by training camp reports, it doesn't sound too promising for most of the rookie QBs to begin the season as starters. Things could change with these upcoming pre-season games though.

The Browns might as well trade their 1st round picks away.

Myles Garrett hasn't been too bad though, but their other two 1st round picks(Peppers and Njoku) from last year weren't that good.

The Cleveland Browns are on Hard Knocks this year - the first episode airs in the US at 2pm NZ time Wednesday I think.

@kiwimurph Why do I relate so much to these fans?🤔

I might watch some old Hard Knock episodes tonight.

Hey, general question for the forum.

Anyone know if FanPass (NZ Sky sports 1-4) has all the NFL games, or are they on ESPN (that isn't on fanpass)?

I'm tossing up getting the NFL Gamepass, but as it's the same price as six months of Fanpass, may consider going back to Sky if NFL is on there.

@nzzp Wouldn't the NFL Gamepass be better if all you want is NFL content?

yeah, but if I can get cricket on demand, super smash, etc, and enough high profile NFL i'd grab it.

a bit reluctant to get both ... I'd love some 'on demand' NCAA but farked if I know where to go to look at that.

Edit: and NH rugby as well - 6N in particular

It's only on ESPN and only the prime time games (Thursday, Sunday and Monday nights) plus redzone.

I don't care if it is preseason. 49ers beat Cowboys. Always a good result.

@kiwimurph Not happy with the number of injuries. Starting TE Kittle, DE Solomon Thomas, LB Malcolm Smith and RB Matt Breida all left with injuries. No word on how bad.

    Nice finish though:

@sneakdefreak Last year's 7th round pick Adrian Colbert was a diamond in the rough and is now the starting free safety. Both this year's 7th round picks had excellent games (defensive lineman Taylor and WR James who caught the game winning TD).

Shanahan said both Breida and Kittle are likely to both miss some time.

    Some preseason tidbits:

The 49ers have signed RB Alfred Morris. Morris knows Shanahan's system and the 49ers have injuries to their two starting RBs.

Also QB Chad Kelly, nephew of former Bills QB Jim Kelly, has climbed to the back up role behind Case Keenum at the Denver Broncos. He's passed Paxton Lynch who was suppose to be the next great Denver QB but is a bit shit.

@sneakdefreak Add in the Kelvin Benjamin and Cam Newton drama.

Benjamin came out and bagged him, which threw people off because everyone thought they were close. Cam always spoke well of him and even came out and said he hated that the Panthers traded him to the Bills, so no one really saw this coming.

Then this happened pre-game last week.
