Just stop sticking cigarettes in your mouth and setting fire to them.
is that a book TB? my mum smoked for like 40 years or so, read this book, and stopped stone cold. hasn't smked for 3 or 4 years now, is brilliant!
[/quote]

Yeah, it was/is a massive bestseller. I went on the course and bought the book afterwards after I stopped just to remind myself why I stopped. As it turned out, the course was enough and I haven't smoked since.

Paj and TB......what methods does this special book use to make one want to stop smoking though? It sounds almost too good to be true.

I was thinking I might want to quit when eventually the government start putting nasty pictures on the front of the cig packets. I've seen a couple of previews and they will be a bit a deterrent I suspect. :nta

What special tricks RB? Fark knows, but all the way through the book I smoked, and nodding in agreement with why I failed on other atempts and the logic within smoking and it just makes you think why the hell I smoked in the first place.
Have had a huge night on the turps as well, had memory blank in morning, asked Mrs Paj if I had a smoke during the night as couldn't remember a fair chunk...passed. Haven't had any withdrawels either and seems bloody weird, and too easy.

    RB,

Most anti-smoking crusaders try and scare the crap out of smokers or try and humiliate them into stopping (the usual health-scare/anti-social blah blah blah), but of course all that just makes the smoker angry, and what does a smoker does when he's pissed off or stressed? He has a smoke of course...and Allen Carr recognises this.

He says that most smokers believe that ciggies are a health risk and have anti-social side effects but still they smoke, ie they are ok with it, obviously, becuase they still choose to smoke...

The key is the word 'choose', because smoking is, in reality, a choice. Smokers however believe they dont have a choice, and that they smoke because they need to relax/concentrate/socialise/something to do with their hands. Smokers also belive that they enjoy smoking, and that it is a habit.

Allen Carr shows you that all these things are is a big justification for a nicotine addiction whicj kicks in every 45 minutes 24/7.

To stop you smoking, he breaks down all the little myths we create about needing/enjoying ciggies (how can a ciggie relax you on one hand, and help keep you awake on the other?), and shows you that smoking is actually a choice, once you cut through all the bullshit you have created for yourself in your mind justifying why you smoke and you realise that you are paying through your ass for the priviledge of lining the governments coffers and the profits of a tobacco company and all you are getting out the deal is satisfaction for a nicotine addiction.

Pop down to the QBD at Indooroopilly and get yourself a copy. It will be money well spent mate.

The main reason that guys keep on smoking as far as I can work out is that increases their chances of getting a girl-friend who smokes…..

Yeah thanks True Blue.....now you've planted the seed of doubt in my mind, I'll let it gnaw away at me for a little while, and then when I'm feeling suitably motivated, I'll go and fork out for the book. I'm very impressionable too, so once I've read the book, it will be "Goodbye Winfield". <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=';)' />

so not only do you smoke, but you smoke disgusting cigarette's as well!

I used to socially puff on a ciggie (Marlboro lights only, like the poser I am) when drinking until one day I realised I was going through more cigarettes than drinks on a night out... So without reading the book I decided to quit, right there on the spot.

3 months now.. going strong! I truly believe that smoking is a psychological thing in that if you 100% really want to give up, you can. But you have to be 100% behind it.. 99.99% and you'll fail.
