@Stargazer There's another Barrett other than Kane?

Daniel Parete could be the younger brother of Jesse. Bunn is a well-known surname of Taranaki teams from the past.

I'd love to see a Canterbury team for this weekend's game against Ta$man

Iโ€™d love them to respect the fact the club final is on and not pick anyone from HSOB or Lincoln

Or that it's a national provincial play-off match and not pick the All Black loosehead, because you're a bit short in that department! ๐Ÿ™‚

@Yeetyaah Yup, Smiley and Mrs Barrett have quite a production line: Kane, Beauden, Scott, Blake, Jordie + 3 younger daughters. I don't think Blake is as good as his brothers though; I think he's always been close, but just below Mitre 10 Cup level.

answering the question "what exactly is there to do in Taranaki anyway?"

There's bugger all crossover between Canterbury and those two playing groups anyway. Lincoln have been decimated this season and HSOB have bugger all stars.

Talking to someone closely involved with one of the two sides today, and he seemed to think they'd both be pretty much at full strength.

@shark Lincoln have no Rameka Poihipi , Sam Gilbert or Cullen grace. Thatโ€™s going to hurt losing Poihipi and Gilbert

@mariner4life Blame his parents, as both sons went there. ๐Ÿคฃ

Edit: I found this, Poihipi is a boarder from Te Puke. His father is a policeman and his mother a school teacher in the King Country. He was the 2016 1st XV captain.

@chchfanatic Poihipi is some player. Best non-super rugby player I've seen in the metro comp this year. Suprised his name hasn't popped up more for playing 12 for the Crusaders in the future.

This is why Ranfurly Shield games between Heartland teams and Mitre 10 Cup teams are awesome.

    .

The next Heartland Ranfurly Shield game is this Friday, 26 July 2019.
    ๐Ÿ‰ Otago v North Otago
    โฐ Friday at 2.05pm

Otago squad for the Heartland Ranfurly Shield game against North Otago.

    .

He didn't make the M10 Cup squad, but now I see that Ash Moeke has returned from France. IIRC, he was pretty handy for Otago several years back.

Waikato Squad will be named on Tuesday 6th of August. Seems a bit late, but I'm just itching for it to build some hype.

@Yeetyaah Strawbridge must be wanting to finalise his squad after the 2 pre-season games.

Waikato Rugby Union continues to strengthen their forward pack with the signing of Fijian International, Apisai Naikatini, for the 2019 Mitre Cup.

    Apisai Naikatini signs with Waikato

I'd rather they reward local players than sign a 34 yr old Fijian.
