@Stargazer And the lineouts. Looks like our reserves have come on thinking the game was already in the bag and perhaps the effort and concentration is not as good as it should be.

Important intercept from Sapsford. Possibly saved a try.

@Nepia to be fair that was such a steal. Cully was awesome but turned into the GOAT when he played for the Lions.

I'll just add Nonu, ASav, Umaga, Smith, Coles, Collins, Perenara to trump your Rettalick. 😉

He was the GOAT from 1996 ....

The point is, I wouldn't argue with any of those players .... it's the not superstar ones.

Beautiful and hard try saving tackle there by the HB fullback. It's been all Taranaki for about the last ten or so minutes.

Just back from the game, and still thawing out.

Happy with the win, and the first 60 minutes of the game, until the boys decided to try and close out the game and stopped playing rugby. Even with all the ball Taranaki had in the last 20 minutes, the defence from Hawkes Bay was committed.

McClutchie is really growing into his role. Apart from a Guildford like stutter step back into the defence run, his all round game is getting better each game. Goal kicking was perfect. Great touch finders as well.

Great to see Emerson hitting some form and scoring tries.

Though the boys were going to blow my 17+ pick, but just held it together 🙂

The best player I saw all night though was Hanna Brough for the Tui's. I haven't watched much womans rugby, must see more. Great skill and committment from the Tui's. Keen to see the replays on TV of the replacement prop scoring her tries - very Bill Cavubati like. Also, her clearing out at the breakdowns was done with a style of her own - just push them back and send them arse over tit

@Stockcar86 I didn't expect this before the game, but McClutchie easily outplayed Perofeta tonight.

A most apt and graphic description!
