Noddy does Wesley Weight Management
-
Poof.

Once you've lost the weight its OK to have a couple <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> -
-
had my medical on Saturday. Went through some blood tests. Cholesterol levels are fine (around 5) but the make up of them is a bit off, too much bad cholesterol and not enough of the good stuff. Plus my liver aint functioning as well as it should probably put down to a bit of fatty build up in there.

Got another test done in which I will get results this arvo.

Blood pressure is fine thankfully.

It all starts tomorrow! -
ok all set. So it begins. They must have heavy scales as I officially start at 118!!!! <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Anyway, I am basically on these Optifast shakes/bars for the next couple of months. 5 a day, plus 2 cups of veges (a cup is damn small) and a serve (90g) of meet.

Not much excercise in the first week they reckon as due to rapid weight loss (love those words) the metabolism needs a bit of time to catch up and they don't want me passing out anywhere mid-run/walk. -
Some of those bars taste like shit - the mother-in-law was on one brand and they were revolting. Not Optifast though... :-k

A cup IS a damn small serve - look at the readouts on most breakfast ceral, then compare what you put in your bowl. It ain't the "recommended" serve they're talking about <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Know what you mean about the heavy scales - mine at home tell me I'm 115-116, but when I go to donate blood their scales say :shifty: more than that...

So Noddy - our first goal is to get to 110kg - or rather, independent of inaccurate doctor's scales  to lose 8kg each. Your time starts........... NOW! -
cheers NTA. I'm off....and pretty damn hungry. Big salad with salmon tonight though...oh and other shake.

I hate just starting off on these things. I have been waiting to start and now I want to weight to drop off straight away. Needless to say I weighed myself this morning after 1 day. Still a way off 110 yet mate. -
interesting...just doing some number crunching (Calories and fat grams). Currently I have about 1000-1200 calories a day and about 26 grams of fat.

I just wrote down what I would have on a semi-regular basis previously - over 3000 calories and 126 gms of fat!!! Gees. Those bloody iced coffees and cherry ripes!! 14 gms of fat in a cherry ripe!!! 255 calories!!!

Cripes! No wonder I am where I am. -
ok, first week done and dusted. Not too bad. Some tough periods, more to do with looking for some different (and much loved) flavours. Tough at dinner time as the kids enjoyed their spag bol or macaroni and cheese. And I had a shake and salad.

Anyway, its paid off so far. Lost 5kgs in the first week. Down to 113.1 on the official scales (112.5 on my scales at home though, but lets keep this official). The dietician says that most of that loss (3kg or so) is just water loss as the body readjusts to the new diet. He said I can expect about a weekly average of 2kg a week now for the next 11 weeks.

Minimal excercise last week. He wants me to go for 3 x 30 minute walks this week. -
5 kg eh? :nta I'm down 2-3kg according to the scales at home. I've been basically eliminating fat and any sugar additives I can find - this means basically eliminating cups of tea too...

Have been supplementing my weekend eating with the protein shakes which has really helped the weight loss, and making sure my fluid intake is sound too in order to shed the water storage as your dietician says. But Friday night Mrs TA has organised dinner with friends - at a BBQ rib joint -

Its ok Nick they serve salads at those places

Nice weight loss Noddy, must make it worth while when you see such a big loss in one week, the hard part must be to keep it up.. -
ok 2nd weigh in last night. Down to 111.9. Only 1.2kg loss which I am disapointed about. I wanted over 1.5kg.

I am upping the excercise this week. Going for a brisk walk of 45 mins every morning (except bloody Thursday when I have a 5am flight to Melbourne coming back late).

Speaking of which, don't corporate lunches suck? I got through last Friday when we had meetings all day and platters of those fantastic sandwiches - white bread, chicken and mayo; avo and cheese; ham and tomato etc. Had to leave the room for a while.

Thursday will be a test as well, plus am going away for the weekend with the missus. Grrrrrr....must be strong. -
wahooo, reached my target this week. Wanted to get below 110kg so was aiming for a 2kg loss.

Lost 2.3kg to be down to 109.6

45 minute brisk walks except for Thursday and Saturday. Had a casual wander through the streets of Byron on Saturday though. Thursday was tough as I was in Melbourne for work all day and had to forgo the regular corporate lunch of steak sandwich and chips for a plate of lettuce (ok it was a salad, but not much in it). Then forgoing the flight meal (which I love) of mash, peas and caserole was hard. My colleague loved it so he had mine as well. The prick.

A weekend away, sans kids, in Byron was hard too. Went to dinner one night and had tuna (ignored the potato cake) and asian greens. Not my preferred choice, by the only one allowable under the current 'regime'.

So stocked to lose it. Hopefully will maintain the 2kg+ loss for the next 4 of 5 weeks which should get me under (or close to) the ton before the 2nd phase of the program kicks in. -
Well done Noddy, you're on fire. It seemed like just yesterday you started and you've already knocked off a fair whack. I'm getting inspired here - its time I stopped procrastinating and got off my fat arse.

Eating out is always a challenge. At home you can get into a routine. -
hmmm, only lost .9kg.

I had a tough week. Had some birthday cake, a pack of pringles and gourged on some choc chip cookies. Still plenty of excercise, but obviously the suger kicks stunted my weight loss.

Bugger.

Still, 1 kg in a week is good. Now 108.7kg which is just a smidge under 10kgs in 4 weeks.

Want to crack another 2kg this week though. -
no weigh in for me till Wednesday (official weigh in at least), when I have a session with the Wesley's personal trainer. Its just a heart rate monitored walk, but its a chance to guage if I am exerting enough effort at the moment. Plus it will be with a little fit blonde hottie in bike pants.

But, fuck, doesn't your weight fluctuate? I weighed myself Sunday morning (I think it was) and was about 106.3 thinking wow fucking fantastic - what a week. Then later that night before bed weighed again and I was over 109! I want to be below 107 at this week's weigh in (fuck I hate sounding like I am in the Biggest Loser).
