The Barbarians are looking better already having scored 2 tries in the first 10 mins.

@bovidae 12 all, now. I'm surprised by how good that Barbarians team is playing!

Blues are leading 19 - 12 at half time. Barbarians surprisingly good, esp if you consider that they had a man in the bin for 10 minutes.

There was a good try from Sofai Maka. I'm not sure he really looks like a fullback, though (off, admittedly, a very small amount of rugby). I'd be interested to see how he'd go at centre

@bobily2 Don't really have time to watch this game, but from what I've seen with half an eye, Maka is playing well.

He didn't look too flash at kicking, but he's definitely a threat on attack. His legs look to be bigger than most of the forwards.

The Baabaas haven't had much ball in the 2nd half and when they were on attack kicked too much. Laboured passing from 9 and 10 hasn't helped either.

Blues are running away with the game now.

@bovidae Missed most of the second half and just looked at the score. Seems like the Baabaas have imploded.

I've liked what I've seen from Sititi so far. Competition for the NZ U20 squad loose forwards will be very tight.

Sititi impressed me in the two games I watched him play live last year. First year out of school so might only be looked at next year. The best schoolboy no.8 last year was playing for the Baabaas - Methven.

It's a shame they haven't been competitive enough for Methven to get much recognition so far. I thought he looked good off limited opportunities last game, but it was really just the occasional touch we had to go off of.

Loved his dad as a player. A real nice guy too.

His dad named him after William Wallace.

While the naming of his son may not be classically Samoan, he reveals: "My wife was in Samoa at the time, and couldn't fly over to Scotland because of the pregnancy.

"I asked the Borders coach at the time, Tony Gilbert, if I could go back for the birth. He said that as a father I would let you go, but as a rugby coach I can't, so I want you to stay in Scotland.

"It was a very difficult time, and obviously disappointing, but I talked to my wife and she said that we better start looking for a Scottish name for our son so that we could remember the time he was born.

"I found out about the Scottish hero William Wallace, so I thought that Wallace would be a special name for my son, as I couldn't be at the birth because of working in Scotland."

    Sititi settling in well

While the media gaze surrounding Newcastle Falcons may have been focused on the comeback of Jonny Wilkinson and the signings of Colin Charvis and Matt Burke, the acquisition of Samoa captain Semo

    @dice

Not the point of your post, but wow, Tony Gilbert's a hard taskmaster. If i was Semo I would've been informing him that I was leaving to be there for my son, and he could handle that however he saw fit
