Isaac Bracewell, Lewis Bush, Harry Godfrey, Jimmy Harris, Kienan Higgins, Joel Hintz, Damarus Hokianga, John Ika, Josh kaifa, Kianu Kereru-Symes, Hami Lauaki, Frank Lochore, Jason Long, Tupou Ma'afungia, Paora Manuel-Harmon, Iakopo Mapu, Elijah Martin, Xavier McCorkindale, Bayden Papuni, Sheridan Rangihuna, Amos Roddick, Josiah Sakaria, Jesse Sipaia, Damien Scott, Zac Simpson, Sam Smith, Hoera Stephenson, Jonty Stewart, Jayden Stok, Will Tremain, Majella Tufuga, Mefi Tupou, Ted Walters.
Can someone fill me in with details of these players who I can't recall seeing play or can't recall who they play for please?

Josiah Sakaria (MAC) is a good winger, first year out of Hastings Boys.
Jonty Stewart is a 2nd-year Academy player who last year made the Hurricanes U20 (but hardly got minutes). A 10/fullback. Before that, he was the Feilding HS 1st XV captain.
Don't know much about Paora Manuel-Harmon, except that he's a back out of Poverty Bay.
Bayden Papuni (Havelock North) is a lock/loosie, who attended Hastings Boys. Not sure when.
Damien Scott is a loosie who plays for your own club haha. He's been around for a while. Has repped the Bay in sevens.

That team line-up can also be found in the article below.
Also from that article:
... with Jacob Devery, also 23, expected to be out for the season through injury ...

That's embarrassing but we have about six good loosies so might not have taken notice of the names of who was actually on the field at all times in the four Premier games I have watched. I did see a tall skinny young guy in the Tech clubrooms tonight wearing Havelock No 1s so that might have been Papanui. Not sure he played in the game though.

So are we assuming from this squad that guys like Connor McLeod and Caleb Makene aren't coming back this season???
-
@kiwimatrix Why wouldn't Makene come back? Players often come back from stints in the MLR. Same with other Shield Snorters playing in the MLR: Namatahi Waa, Dennon Robinson-Bartlett and Lolani Faleiva. Maybe not O'Connor, who may or may not be considering retirement.

Paora Manuel-Harmon played for Pirates and the HB Development team last year before he played for Poverty Bay on loan.

@Stargazer You would think they would need to be back soon,it's 2 months till it starts they would need minimum 3 weeks training together and probably 2 warmup games.
-
@kiwimatrix Connor McLeod is playing in Bay of Plenty for Judea. Don't know what Calebs doing. Hopefully he'll come back.
-
@kiwimatrix The Western and Eastern conference of the MLR have their final on 20 June. Only Namatahi Waa's club, and maybe Brendon O'Connor's have a chance of making that final.
Don't know which teams play the few "eliminator" matches next week (no idea what eliminator matches are), but there's a good chance Makene already played his last MLR match yesterday. Worst case scenario, his last match is next weekend.

The HBRU still hasn't posted a team line-up or updated squad list for tomorrow's preseason game (yes, I've seen the full squad list posted above and in the HBT). Manawatū have, see link below.
On the Manawatū webpage are the details that weren't in the HBT:
K/o time: 2.30pm
Venue: Bush Multisport Park, PahiatuaHastings Boys Top 4 Champ Julian Goerke and Napier Boys' Top 4 runner-up squad member Kegan Christian-Goss are in the Manawatū Evergreens squad.

Half time:
Manawatū Evergreens 14 - 19 Shield Snorters Saracens
I have no idea who the try scorers are, or the HB line-up for that matter.
The HBRU are not posting any updates of the game, but fortunately Manawatū is giving the live scores on Twitter (but only posting the names of their own points scorers). The Manawatū Standard is usually covering games like these, so hopefully there will be some match report in the media, with names.

Yuck.
Full time: Manawatū Evergreens 33 - 26 Shield Snorters Saracens
Damn, we really do need that downvote button.
-
@Nepia I hate losing to the Pooh. Not having seen our starting line-up & bench, I'm not sure whether I should be worried about this result for the Heartland Ranfurly Shield defences. The Heartland teams are a step down from Manawatū's development side, I guess, so they should also be a step down from ours.
Also don't know whether we'll have any players back from Super at the end of the month (think players like Flanders, who hasn't played much recently). Last year, we had Apikotoa, Visinia, G Evans and Toala back for the first defence.
