How did the ref decide that was where the penalty should be when it was for a man in front?

Agreed on both counts (Mike Coman might not have been so bad after all!!!!) but somehow the Bay manage to score a try wide out on the right to Robbie Fruean and its nicely converted by West HB 10 - 10 Counties after twenty minutes

Remember this is supposed to be the easier part of the season, with a decent gap between games

Peter Russell was given the archer after taking the team to promotion. Wonder what will be the prize for winning relegation will be for this coaching outfit?

Just in case anyone is interested the score has ballooned out to HB 13 - 31 Counties after fifty minutes.

Ben May has gone down in the last two scrums, but thats ok as he was signed for his experience too bad they did not factor in his scrummaging ability.

That is not a penalty as he picked up the ball behind where the other HB player touched it, even if he was in front when the ball was last touched

It certainly is frustrating, especially considering he was contemplating awarding a penalty try. Considering it was referred to him surely the TMO could have pointed out that Lowe was not offside?

Surely by now you would think HB have got kicking off down pat (they have certainly had plenty of them in these three games) but no yet again another knock on for about the fourth time from a restart tonight.

I predict another loss for both the Saracens and U19s by the way. The U18 girls might win. They seem to be our only winning team thus far.

Where do we go to from here guys? Our team looks poorly coached, lacking in skills and general gamecraft and perhaps even a bit down on fitness given the way they seem to be more tired than the opposition toward the end of the game. We look to have limited penetration in midfield, absolutely appalling tackling and not too much go forward up front so there is certainly plenty of room for improvement. Some of these problems you can rectify but, sadly, lack of skills is not really one of them. No matter how good your coaching staff is they cannot compensate for that important consideration, even if they did have the vast majority of the say when it comes to picking their squad. Money cannot be used as a reason as the Bay have been one of the largest spenders on player salaries for the last few seasons so they theoretically should be able to use that as a carrot to assemble a squad to do us proud. I can accept losses, grudgingly of course, but losses of the magnitude we have had to endure so far are very disappointing. The writing was on the wall as early as the hidings we endured in the preseason matches so these performances have not exactly come as a surprise. Regardless it is still very hard to watch our beloved team getting completely demolished in the manner they have been.

We are just going to have to suck it up and suffer as there is no way this trainwreck is going to be turned around this season.

I think we are proven right that we have too many young/inexperienced players in the team and too few who tackle and communicate well. Everything looks so disorganised.

Bring back Buckman and Horrell! Use voodoo or whatever to heal Edmonds and Evans.

I also wonder whether Dixon is the right person for the captaincy. I really rate him as a player, but as a captain? He said in an interview that he wouldn't say much but just wanted to lead by example. With a young team like that, and clearly with lack of confidence, some of the issues are of a mental nature. I think you need someone who can talk, motivate, etc. Not sure who'd be better. Abbott (now vc)? We don't have many options, do we?

Not exactly true as I read an article somewhere that the HB teachers have formed a team and beat their teaching counterparts from another part of the country, obviously Mr. Philpot had no involvement!
