Prop Cyril - PHOTOS HERE....!!!
-
Right Squidly, time to stop just lurking here and start recording.<br />
<br />
History - Prop Cyril still playing, though on the disabled list at the moment with a booboo on his knee, so over the last month he has been back at the gym training. <br />
<br />
We have now done I think 5 serious bench press sessions - here's two I wrote down earlier...<br />
<br />
June 5th<br />
Prop Cyril update. After three chest workouts, starting with bench, he is now 12 reps at 100 then 8 reps at 110kg then 10 at 100kg again, while I am left in the dust with 10, 2 (4 negatives) and 6... One word, bastard.<br />
June 11<br />
My training poartner Cyril, after 4 chest workouts is now back up to 120kg presses, 6. he then follows that as we work back down with a set of ten at 110, and then 10 at 100, or was it 12 - I think it was 12 atually. Warm up sets, 10/60 and 10/105. Serious power in this man. Serious size too - started two weeks ago at 145kg, now down to 140.
<br />
<br />
So without further afo, Props Cyrils log starts now.<br />
<br />

<br />
:nta Hell of a warmup there. I assume from the 47 that its press-to-failure? -
yes, just go until you can't anymore. Think he could have cracked 50, as me above him spotting, once he hit the 47 said "50", meaning "go for fifty", PC thought he had hit 50. SO next week, as I always press first, I will be first past the 50 barrier :coolsmiley: best I have ever done is 68, first time PC has started doing the mad high reps stuff. My chest feels like armour plating today. Pity the rest of my body looks like a half set jelly...<br />
<br />
All sets were to failure, a good fun little mess around - considering PC is still feeling a little under the weather! -
:nat Feel the need to drag a couple of guys from the club down to the gym for some spotting help now. Was doing 110 x 5 at my peak (as a lusty 19yo). Always believed you should be able to press your own body weight...

<br />
Got 2 gym 5mins late & wat did i see Bartman cheating on me with the gym owna. :evil:<br />
They were havn a great time doing squats. So i did a20 min row,then 3x8 chins<br />
and sum pulldowns, then went home.Bart did assist me with the chins.Just getting ready to watch<br />
the netball now. -
mate, it was NOT a great time - squatting hurts, but loving getting back into big weights there, downheartening though struggling through 8x140 kg squats when we used to crank out 200kg squats - but it'll come - when your knee gets right soft cock... <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' />
-
Bart you git, whinging about 140kg lifts that some of us look at whistfully!
-
lol, well think of a lift that is about 2 3rds of what you could lift, and that is all you can do - very sucky motor!! Mind you, I was probably 15kg heavier when we were lifting those weights, and PC about 15 lighter!
-
It's ALIVE !!!!!! <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':lol:' /><br />
<br />
Hey Prop Cyril, you have finally surfaced so howzabout a race to lose 10kg ? I'm still struggling after 4 to5 weeks to lose and maintain 2 kilos off so I badly need the motivation a comp would provide. What do you say ? -

Hey Cyril/Bartman. How much weight are you guys putting on your belt or feet when you are doing your dips ? -
Prop Cyril just starting to get to full reps, me too lazy to put the weight on, so just going with slooow reps.

<br />
Yep, that works a treat doesn't it ? arms turn to jelly fairly quick the slower you go. I just thought from the weights you guys were benching you'd be putting a couple of plates on your dips ?!?! -
just too lazy to really, probably should though, and now that you have remineded me, I'll do it next week!!

Hi there i havnt posted in a while because have been doing THE BODY FOR LIFE programme<br />
What a life changing experience,that i would recomend to any one.<br />
Had final weigh in tonight and was pleasantly surprised.<br />
Started 3months ago at 138kgs,tonight 118kgs i lost 22cm off waist. out of the 20kgs lost<br />
12.2kgs were fat. It was quite overwhelming watching those sort of numbers.It just goes<br />
to show what abit of hard work can do.It also helps to have good guys & gals in your corner<br />
training,motivating,and encouraging you.Cheers Bart and Shazza(my lovely wife who also lost<br />
10kgs just helping me).Will post before & after photos soon. -
yes, well done Prop Cyril, a different man to be sure.<br />
<br />
I am sure that the weight loss will continue too not so big big fella!!- and interesting to note that Prop Cyril is now at where I was during 2004 Christmas - at least 118kgs!!<br />
<br />
Next stop, 110. -
Great effort mate!<br />
I hope in 3 months to be about 118kg as well, When i get there it will be hard not to get involved in Rugby again as i would expect to be feeling quite sprightly. Was it all exercise or did an eating plan come into it? -
Google Body for Life FBB to check it out - 6 small meals a day and exercise. Would probably be ideal for you now, you should check out if your gym does this.
-
and the promised photos - from Cyril that is, but here they are...
-
Primo mate!!! I start Body for life on Monday, on top of the personal trainings
-
lets get those photos in HoorooÂ
<br />
<br />
Local gym here running BFL agin in February - might do it too, but like my food too much, and think I would scare myself if I dropped down below 90kg - not a good look for an ex prop... -
Fark that's impressive, looks like a different bloke.
-
yes Kirwan - looks so much healthier too - when we work out at the gym I sometimes don't recgnise him - looks like a kid again!! Still a bloody big kid but!!
-
Awesome work. Lost so much weight that the hairs on chest and back have fallen off as well....<br />
<br />
What's the story with this Body for Life deal? Whats the cost and do you have to go to the gym? -

Don't have to Paj no (and you didn't spot the 'miracle tan'), just following the eating plan loses you weight. But easier with the support etc of a gym, and doing the programme too, obviously!!
