I really hope the weather in Grenoble will be better for the next test. This was mostly a game for the forwards, and the pick & go the best part of the game. I'd like to see the next match to be played in conditions in which the Ferns can play their running game and see how the French will handle that.

@stargazer much of their play seemed to stem around the little halfback and to be fair she’s a hell of a player, damn good pass for starters and is not afraid to defend in the first or 2nd channel, bloody good hit in the closing minutes on Fitzpatrick off a short ball..they could be just as dangerous on a dry ground me thinks..

This was on my youtube feed today. Not sure if it has been posted before.

While it is a NZ Police promo it is rugby related. I also couldn't help but laugh that Charmaine Smith towers over her partner.

@bovidae Ha, yes, there are a few videos like that. There's one with Fiao'o Fa'amausili, who's a police detective, and IIRC the other one I saw was with one of the firefighters in the team, Eloise Blackwell. There's also been one on tv with Selica Winiata (I think from Sky Sport), who's also a police woman.

    I can't remember the incident.

    Leilani Perese (New Zealand)

New Zealand player Leilani Perese has been cited by independent Citing Commissioner Patrice Frantschi (France) for an alleged act of foul play contrary to Law 9.20 (dangerous play in a ruck or maul) during the test match between France and New Zealand on 9 November.

The hearing will take place on 12 November in London and will be heard by an independent panel comprising Charles Cuthbert (UAE, Chair), Jose Luis Rolandi (Argentina) and Frank Hadden (Scotland).

    The decision:

    Leilani Perese (New Zealand)

An independent judicial committee has cleared Leilani Perese (New Zealand) to play following a disciplinary hearing in London on 12 November, 2018.

Perese was cited for foul play contrary to Law 9.20 (a player must not make contact with an opponent above the line of the shoulders) following the November test match between France and New Zealand in Toulon on 9 November, 2018. The case was heard by an independent judicial committee chaired by Charles Cuthbert (UAE), alongside Frank Hadden (Scotland) and Jose-Luis Rolandi (by video-link from Argentina).

Having conducted a detailed review of all the available evidence, the independent judicial committee deemed the alleged offence not to have warranted a red card.

Perese is free to resume playing with immediate effect.

    23 Natahlia Moors*

    *debut

The introduction of Moors as a reserve wing is an opportunity to provide extra fire power in the back line for a match that’s expected to bring plenty of excitement.

Moore said he was proud of the way the Black Ferns had risen to the challenge of their first encounter against France in Toulon last week.

“We expected the French to come out firing and they did just that. This weekend we're expecting that level of intensity to ramp up a notch.

“The players have recovered well since Friday and we’ve been upping the intensity all week in preparation. Having an extra day up our sleeves has given us more time to further refine our game plans and manage a couple of minor injuries.”

Saturday’s line-up sees a more traditional five forwards and three backs named for the bench, a shift from the six forwards and two backs named last week.

Moore said after analysis of last week's match and consideration of anticipated drier conditions, changing the make up of the reserves was the correct approach.

A large crowd was expected for the afternoon match on Saturday, an opportunity the team would relish, according to their coach.

    Sunday, 18 November 2018, kick-off 2.30am NZT. Live on Sky Sport 2.

Was Chelsea Alley injured in the USA game? I do remember seeing her getting treatment on the field.

Entertaining first half. There's not much between both teams, except that dominant French scrum.

IMO the third French try should have been disallowed as the French left wing clearly blocked Winiata, preventing her from tackling the try scorer.

The French public is annoying as ever, booing every excellent tackle from the Ferns, as if it was foul play (which it wasn't).

Hope the Ferns can fix that scrum like last week.

Blackwell and Waaka the best players for NZ.

Half time: France 19 - 14 New Zealand

Correct decision, clearly no try for France. No grounding (no control).

Now a really good try for the French.

    The Ferns look flustered.

    France now leads 24 - 14.

Penalty goal Cocksedge (who hasn't missed a kick thus far).

    It's 24 all.
