@machpants Some people on twitter - obviously not Kiwis - were already quite excited or shocked by that.

We're not last on the full table (published on the WR website), by the way, with Samoa, Germany and Jamaica (two tournaments each) below us. Only Samoa is a core nation.

@stargazer OK, that’s not as bad. Not that it is their fault, or anything!

We have the same win percentage as Fiji?

ABs schedule at the Vancouver Sevens (in NZT):

    Sunday, 17 April 2022
    5:06am: v Japan
    8:17am: v Wales
    11.28am: v Samoa

Being in Pool B, that automatically places us against an opponent from Pool C (Australia, South Africa, Spain or Canada) in the first game of the finals on Monday. So if we make the Cup QFs, it will be more difficult to progress to the semis than at the Singapore Sevens, assuming we'll play Australia or South Africa.

@stargazer these pools look very uneven. Ours is too easy. Sky coverage appears to be Tuesday 6am not Monday 6am as I hoped and expected. Mcgarvey Black will be a welcome addition this week.

@arhs Where are you based? In NZ, we can watch everything live on Sky Sport 1.

If not in NZ, can you watch the livestream via the World Rugby website or app if you use a VPN?

@stargazer lol thanks. It is my sky search function. It misses all coverage with a "live"
prefix. I see why I have been picking up replays now. I am behind the times in Papamoa now we aren't The Bay any more.

Japanese player too scared to tackle Rush in case he gets fended, so just chases him all the way to the tryline with Rush running sideways πŸ˜‚

Was still watching the backside of my eye lids instead of the game, but the AB7s beat Japan 40 to 14.

I see the USA lost to Kenya.
Argentina v France ended in a draw, but both easily won their 2nd game.
Fiji, South Africa and Australia got the job done in round 1.
Samoa is now on their way to win their second game.

Ha, Baker just easily runs through the Welsh defence and Rokolisoa doesn't even have to go full speed to score.

Kurt Baker's conversions are excellent, but his re-starts are terrible.
