Was a toss up for me between Tua and Murray in the backs, but Ofa was very good, very busy, and then 2021's unwanted man, Matich was very good again.

Rush very good again, Mau'u playing well too, McNamara did well when he came on, aged 22, 24 and 24 respectively, is a good sign with some of the talent coming through

How good has Rush been this year. I was worried when Tom Robinson had his usual concerns and thought he’d leave a huge hole, but Rush has stepped in and made a real fist of it. He’s going to go a long way if he keeps it up.

Bar maybe 3 guys I hope we keep this squad together and attract a few more Northland lads home from elsewhere next year.

Way more than I expected this season, still a bit shaky in areas but you can’t fault the fight we show.

If only we’d shown that tenacity during those two heavy loses to Harbour and Tasman. That was the only blight on a solid season.
