Tonga v Chile

No sign of the Los Condors (IRB Ranking 21) yet but they can't be underestimated considering they finished with a big rush to get within seven points of Romania (IRB Ranking of 17) last week where the 'Ikale Tahi (IRB Ranking of 15) tonked Spain by more than thirty.

Have just been sent the link for this game
Kick off is at midnight but hopefully the coverage will start a bit earlier to show the formalities (sipi tau) that take place before hand.
-
@Higgins Huete is back! Quite timely. Sigren as captain?
-
@Nepia will be in a state of shock, Solomone Kata has been spotted passing the ball!
-
Former Hurricanes Assistant Coach (and BoP as well) Richard (Watty) Watt is sitting in the 'Ikale Tahi coaching box. Interesting to note Chile electing to take another lineout every time Tonga throw in crooked, and there have been at least three of these inside the first 25 minutes. Vaea Fifita has had every Tonga thrown in thrown to him.
-
Didn't think it would almost take until halftime for Tonga to get ahead and all kicks at that.
-
@ARHS But the try Sam Lousi has just scored was a beauty.
-
Mercifully it has got to halftime and the referee can get a much needed break to recharge his lungs in readiness to keep blowing the pea out of his whistle for the next 40 minutes. Admittedly the players are making it rather easy for him in that regard.
It is almost as if some of the Tongan players have forgotten exactly what Mate Ma'a Tonga means given the standard of play is somewhat below the levels we have seen from their players individually in the Bunnings Cup and Super Rugby games they have had. Most of the calls of encouragement (as well as those advising the referee of incidents he might have missed) that have been made from the Tongan bench have been coming in English!!!!!!!Halftime see Tonga lead 13 - 03 but Chile have passed up on a couple of oenalty chances that could have given them another 6 points at least.
-
And now smelling salts required for @Nepia as Solomone Kata gets credited with an assist as he delivers the final pass after coming into the backline from his blindside wing and breaks nicely through before putting the right winger in for a nicely constructed try, aided by some rather ineffective tackling!
-
Magpies try! Funaki scores again (he scored two tries, last week)!!
-
FT: Tonga 39 - 10 Chile

Sadly Stan is not showing this match so I can't confirm this.
