A couple of weekends ago Hastings BHS defeated Wellington College 33-10, a good win against a perpetually strong college.

That's a good start to the season for Hastings BHS with the Super 8 ahead.

Winger Kini Naholo, a younger brother of Waisake, scored one of the four tries for Hastings BHS.
-

I don't know - It's an intriguing one, Nepia.

They had Sanaila Waqa (born in Fiji) who became a Magpie last year, and now they have Kini Naholo (also born in Fiji). It makes you wonder if there is some kind of recruitment link in place.
-

I don't think so, Waqa just rocked up rather than be recruited. Two in a couple of years isn't really much, not like Rotorua and Hamilton a few years back.
-

Here's more good news for Nepia and Gibbit. In the first round of the Tranzit Coachlines First XV Series your Hastings BHS killed Scots College 53 - 12 in Palmerston Nth today. Looks like a few more scholarships might have to be found for Scots! To make it more sweeter for you guys another result was St. Patricks College Silverstream 20 Napier BHS 7

-

Just watched Hastings BHS smash St Pats Town on the Rugby Channel. That Hastings team is seriously good! Hope they can beat Hamilton this year and win the Super 8.

Naholo's little brother came on as a sub in the 2nd half and scored a try. Pretty handy player, surprised to see he's a forward? Or do I need glasses and wasn't that 20 on his jersey?

Some really good players in that team. Hope the HBRU locks a few in for the next couple of years, so they don't all end up in other regions.
-

And in other results, one which will not please Stockcar86, Napier BHS lost to a relatively ordinary Wellington College 19 - 21, Gisborne BHS snuck home over St. Patricks Silverstream 29 - 28 and Scots College got smoked 09 - 28 by Palm Nth BHS. Still no news on the awarding of any new scholarships at any of the schools.

-

We're knocking over everybody by big scores at the moment (but no Super 8 teams faced so who knows where we sit) but you know we'll lose 7-5 to Napier Boys and then they wont win another game all season.

Oh, by we, I mean Hastings Boys.
-

Ginnit and Nepia will be further encouraged by the results from yesterday in matched played in Gisborne. Can't locate the official score but saw it last night when looking for something else and recall it was a bit of a pasting with Hastings racking up over 50 points. Will keep trying to find the score and post them here if I can locate them

Hastings BHS v St. Patricks College Silverstream

Napier BHS 10 - 17 Scots College

Gisborne BHS 31 - 19 Wellington College

St. Patricks College Kilbirnie v Palmerston Nth BHS
-

Super 8 results from 11/6:

Hastings BHS 40 v Palmerston North BHS 7
Napier BHS 22 v Gisborne BHS 21
New Plymouth BHS 19 v Hamilton BHS 16 (Thursday)
Tauranga BC 18 v Rotoura BHS 24

Central North Island results from 11/6:

St. Paul's 38 v Wesley 0

Nepia and Gibbit will be well pleased with that result (even more meritorious with it being an away fixture) as will Stockcar86 at his outfit's spin out in form with a victory over a very good Gisborne side.

Looks like it will be a fiercely contested clash in Akina next weekend when the two sides front up against each other!

Napier in bottom 3.

After 3 rounds, Lindisfarne in the bottom 3, and St John's at the absolute bottom of the table (St John's with only 2 games played; they had the bye this weekend).
-

Played 10, won 10, so far this year for Hastings BHS, I believe.
