Is anyone watching this?

Man the singing of the National anthems by their respective choirs was simply out of this world. Then the pure passion and drama shown during the sipi tau and the siva tau was real dramatic. The respective supporters are also adding to the atmosphere. Whatever happens from now on will only add to the experience.

Loved the Tongan supporter's sign that read, "Die for Tonga"...reminiscent of a famous speech by the Turkish military leader Ataturk at Gallipoli who said "I am not ordering you to attack, I am ordering you to die..."...no mincing of words there..

I would've loved to have seen Anthony Milford play for Samoa as he is one of the best players in the whole of the NRL competition IMHO..., he is O for Awesome...so much PI talent making rugby and league great these days...

I also would've liked to see Konrad Hurrel play for Tonga and Radarada and Jarryd Hayne playing for Fiji...but to quote Jagger, "You can't always get what you want"

The Tongan team is called Mate Ma'a which translates to Die for Tonga, hence the sign.

Interesting comment made by the commentator after a wide shot of the crowd, "Tonight would be a great night to sneak into a pub because every doorman in Sydney is here at Pirtek Stadium".
