Always count the bar but make sure the bar is 20kg first, many aren't.<br />
<br />
Free weights-there ought to be an invention for free weights where if you get stuck a pulley type system pulls the weights back or up for you.<br />
I prefer free weights but it always depends on the exercises, your technique and your physical condition. Many jocks use free weights but with such crap technique they would be better off with machines.

Don't read this tis embarrassing:<br />

6 and 10 chest dips -
agh if you want time of day, morning is best, as the fat burning advantages of a higher metabolic rate are reduced when one sleeps.Therefore best not at night/evening.

eating a little before your workout gives your body some fuel to be pushed, but eating a meal around 30-60 mins after your workout means the meal is digested more efficiently as your metabolic rate is still pumping from the workout. The trick is to get your heart in the training zone and a good sweat up.

I would like to verify that Barnya has got three sneaky pashes from<br />
various women over the last three weeks, two of them back to back<br />
<br />
Siamese twins only count as one pash! -
what Mogwai suggested-bent over row is good for the back, for shoulders lat pull down in front is what they suggest for not stressing the shoulders, and wide grip chinups are recommended too.

Yeah. Enjoy watching chicks do that one <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':blink:' /><br />

what about the leg version of the pec dec, a female friend calls it the "birthing machine".. -
Go up in weights when you feel totally in control of the current weight at ah high reps.<br />
And yeah many years ago I was around 115% on the bench but never been that great on it, preferred incline dumb bells as you can concentrate on balancing arm and shoulder strength.<br />
Have just started bench press again and once I feel comfortable with muscle stability will alternate bench press with dumb bell incline and incline chest press and chest dips (with weights).<br />
Someone suggested shoulder press, be careful with that, as a lot of people have crap technique and overload, causing serious problems down the track.<br />
Wide shoulder chin ups are good stuff.<br />
Has anyone tried pyramid strength training? I vaguely recall it working for me but that could be memory playing up.<br />
Fuller I think Olympic bars are 20Kg but many softie gyms (ie where they clean up the sweat on at least a weekly basis) have 17.5 or even less bars so it pays to ask. -
BMI is crap esp for stocky types with strong legs ,Michael Jones in his playing days and pro even McGod would be told to lose weight if you listened to BMI, so don't!<br />
proof:http://nhlbisupport.com/bmi/bmi-m.htm (metric or imperial)<br />
try inputtng some AB players. I think Richie is 187cm and around 106-110kg now?<br />
Dan Carter is 28.7BMI-->fatso! -
Bones et al swiss ball exercises I vouch for.<br />
But if you don't have elab equipment ie any, you can try this: lie on your back, raise your legs 5-20 deg until you find the angle most difficult to keep them up in the air and then do the situps, you can also do incline ones if you want variety.<br />
Always found bent over rows really work the back and the backs of the arms. Put one knee on the bench, grab weight off floor in one hand, lift until biceps are parallel to your torso, repeat with other arm (changing knee of course). In my younger days I think I was getting up to 30-37.5 kgs, 4 sets of 10, would change sets and reps now that I know better <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> -
ok I will join in;<br />
aim to move down from a comfortable 89Kg to 80, but 85 is probably more realistic :nta -
some tips:<br />
yeah like Bar etc said, it is not just calories expended, but getting your heart into the training zone: when you get used to jogging, you will need to push it to keep in the zone. Having a running mate will help. And if you train in the morning, it will help burn off fat all through the day.<br />
Also, try and get a free fitness appraisal, esp if they will do another in a month or so, you will be amazed at the changes in your aerobic capacity.<br />
Water helps purify (helps reduce toxins) so is good for weight loss.<br />
People can build up fat from too much dairy food--good idea to reduce it for a few weeks.<br />
Eating within 4 or so hours of sleep, the food will digest slowly and less efficiently.<br />
People taking up fitness regimes won't necessarily lose weight for the first few weeks as they are building muscle while losing fat and muscle is heavier.<br />
Taking a fast walk after your dinner every night is a good idea (see The Meaning of Life for official John Cleese recommendation). -

The body matches the spelling? :shocked: -
oops <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> I meant 3 times a week.<br />
Oh and apparently the beast with two backs is rated as good aerobic exercise.<br />
<br />
Yeah, getting just the right bike height set up is crucial to avoid back pain, but it is the alarmist connections between cycling and testicular cancer and ED that sounded a little worryuing http://www.usrf.org/news/bikeriding.html<br />
<br />
Yeah weights with warmup and warmdown and flexes are recommended. Anything that uses your large muscles, glutes etc esp say squats, are recommended. -
no sugar (it metabolises fat)<br />
no alcohol (see above) or: the lower the alcohol content the better<br />
30+ mins aerobic (starting to sweat) mod--heavy exercise at least 3 times a night (cycling is great: just be careful of potential back or testicular issues). Circuit training is also great (don't need a gym for that, some parks have good set ups for it)<br />
avoid coffee (or if you must have it, no milk and sugar) drink 1-2 litres water a day<br />
choose the right sort of carbs<br />
walk everywhere at speed and try not to drive so much.<br />
lots of sleep (less sleep is related to increased bodyweight)<br />
avoid bulky foods at night<br />
steam or microwave or grill food, eat raw veges and avoid frying<br />
eat after exercise rather than before (the higher metabolic rate burns off the food quicker)<br />
spend as much time topless or naked in the presence of beautiful women as possible<br />
<br />
now, if I could just follow my own advice..
