@nzzp I thought it was Saili and Nick WIlliams, although Williams is too old to have been in competition with Saili out of school, similarly with Read 3 years Saili's senior, it was probably someone else all together coming out of school at the same time?

Young Woman and the Sea

True story of American Trudy Ederle in her attempt to be the first woman to cross the English Channel in 1926.

Decent movie, with Daisy Ridley as Trudy, also starring Stephen Graham as Bill Burgess, an eccentric swimmer who had previously made the crossing himself in 1911.

Gots to say, I did get a bit emotional at the end when you saw how much it meant to so many, especially when it seems for the most part it was kept close enough to the truth.

Def one of those rare movies that punches way better than the story promises!
