@kirwan Eh, just one more episode.
Apparently Netflix dropped the price per episode that they'll pay for that awful show, so they've got to squeeze out more money from the fixed costs (sets etc).
In good news:
“It’s an extremely different rhythm than Discovery, Discovery is a bullet. Picard is a very contemplative show. It will find a balance between the speed of Discovery and the nature of what Next Gen was, but I believe it will have its own rhythm.”
“More grounded’ is not the right way to put it, because season 2 of Discovery is also grounded. It will feel more … real world? If that’s the right way to put it.”
Maybe they'll even show problems getting solved, rather than having a "genius" "strong female" character just pull a particularly dumb rabbit out of a hat.
The New Generation was always pulling rabbits out of hat, usually at the last minute. Same on the original series.
How is the new character any different from (shut up) Wesley?
-
@kirwan Nope. We've been through this before, with examples. On the old show the writers would actually work through a problem, not just announce that it had been solved. Of course it was hand wavy, almost all sci-fi was, but it was part of a story.
Wesley wasn't the main character. Another poor attempt to defend a truly awful show.

Any thoughts about the Orville. I thought it was a ST parady but it's just a blatant St rip-off. Seth Macfarlane has had more work done to his appearance than Darth Vader.

Homage is the right word. I like that too, sometimes really felt like TNG with the odd Family Guy type gag.
I enjoyed that too.

I can't do it.
Will send a box of craft beer to whoever can sit through this....
On the plus side it makes TLJ look good.

I thought George Lucas had destroyed all existing copies. I'd rather watch TLJ again.

Anyone watch SW Resistance? Got all excited about it. My kids told me it was shit, told them to piss off and watched it.
They were right.....
Made up for it by watching The Delta Force. Ah fuck yeah!
